Re: questions

GM Heath:
Hope everyone had great holidays.  I'm back now, and I hope all of you are too.  We're about ready to wrap up this adventure soon.  Any last votes for what you want next are welcome.  LIke I said, I may do a homebrew.  My thoughts on that are that I can keep it moving faster and tailor it better to your individual desires and skills.

I can also do a published adventure if there's one in particular you guys want.

I think the homebrew idea was next.

One day, I would request, Dark Side of the Moon.

Re: questions

Ah, yes. I've always heard that Dark Side of the Moon was the best of the published SF adventures. Would love to play it one day.

Re: questions

BTW, didn't mean that I had to play DSOTM now. Homebrew would be fine for the next one. Would just like to play it eventually.

Re: questions

Well, I wouldn't mind doing one last published adventure.  My only real concerns are the time lags, particularly because posting rates are not as fast as talking rates at tabletop and these are geared for multiple encounters and sidetracks, and not necessarily as focused as they need to be.

I'll look into DSotM next.

What I may do is have a short homebrew to transition between the two, but not a long one.

Re: questions

Works for me. And I actually enjoy the slower pace of this game. I GM 3 other games on RPOL so I have my hands full. This is the only game I am only a player in. :)

Re: questions

Now that everyone should be back from the holidays, I'm going to try pushing the game forward again at a quicker pace.  This last bit should be full of climactic action, and if we keep it moving, it should feel climactic.  However, that also requires consistent and frequent posts or I will have to take my best guesses about how your characters will fight/respond.

Also, during any battle sequence, please be sure to give me (PM or otherwise) as much detail as necessary for me to determine results, damage, etc.

Re: questions

I've been reading through Dark Side of the Moon (which I've never played or referreed before).  It's sort of a mystery action adventure.  Therefore, please refrain from reading it or refreshing your memory about it.

I will also plan on making some changes, partly so it will be fresh to those who have played it before.

How many of you have actually played or read through that adventure?

Re: questions

Good. Keep it that way.  You'll be glad you did.  It has a lot to do with Vrusk and Human cultural issues, so both Kri'lik and S'Krllk should be able to have a lot of fun with it, as well as the humans.

Other races can assert various opinions such as superiority, disbelief in petty differences, etc., and have fun with it too.

Re: questions

Also, I noticed that this game has now been alive since about Sept. 2004.  That's 6 1/2 years!  In that time, we've gone through 4 total adventures. (The Volturnus series, and now Bugs in the System.)

I'm thinking I wouldn't mind accelerating the pace so that we can finish through DSotM by sometime in the summer.  Then I might do the Alcazzar module and go from there.

Between this one and DSotM, I will do a short mini-adventure homebrew that will occur in civilization.  That gives you opportunity to stock up on supplies you want, something that has been noticeably missing so far.  At that point, if anyone doesn't like their characters and wants something different, they can change that too.

Re: questions

I read through it long ago, so I remember the basic plot but not the details. But I'm pretty good at playing dumb and/or stepping back and letting the others make decisions when I know what's coming in a module, so it shouldn't spoil the fun.

I haven't played either one of them in years but, if we do go through them, Desi will let the others who haven't have control of the team.

Re: questions

Those waiting for the door will need to wait until S'Krllk (hopefully) gets it open, which will be at least the end of the upcoming round -- I will treat it as a delayed action.

Re: questions

My understanding is that Baralou is behind a sliding door that she briefly opened to toss two grenades at us. The other robots are on the other side of us. Do I have that right?

Re: questions

OK, I'm getting it now.  I'm on the opposite side of the room where Baralou is.

If that's the case, which is the most threatening robot closest to Desi/Sergi?  I thought it was the direction where Baralou was but, looks like I have to deal with this now

The security robot has grenades and a shocker, so it's probably the most dangerous.

Almost right... Baralou wasn't stupid enough to open the door, S'Krllk was.

The maintenance robot moves and attacks Desi, striking her with its powerful metallic arm for 11 STA damage.

Which robot is on desi, the regular one or the radioactive one?

Looking to move on and speed things up sir!
