Inta does not smell anything.  The jetcopter likely went down weeks ago.

The Vrusk is calling from a concealed tunnel leading underground.  The tunnel is about 20 yards east of where you stand (and about 10 yards north of the artifact).

The cat-dinosaur is ignoring the herd and coming toward you, about 10 seconds away.

Inta yells, "coming at you". She heads at full speed toward the Vrusk.

Note:  You will probably all make it to the Vrusk in time, but you may not all make it down the hole in time... (i.e. you have to take turns, two at a time, going down).  So consider this as you approach the tunnel.

Being the furthest one out, Becka knows that she has to drop the hammer and move as quickly as she can.  Once the grenades are stowed in her pack she is hell-bent and running toward the others.

OOC - Not sure if she can actually see the tunnel, but I'll wager she can still see her companions.

Frisky says, "Another vrusk!"  You have never seen him so excited.  He will let the others descend first as he stands at the tunnel entrance and prepares a frag grenade.

  Seeing the rush of people headed his way Kri'lik quickly drops back into the tunnel and moves back to his makeshift camp which he has been living in for some time.

OOC:Inta "Great, another bloody alien. Where have all the men gone?" A long wail of anguish carries across the plains.

Bartja, with his little robot in tow, runs to the hole.  He will drop the robot down the hole before climbing down himself.

Lerku lowers his rifle and races after his companions, frantically trying to avoid Dulob's fate.  His screeches can be heard echoing across the landscape.

"EEEEEEEEEEEERrrrrrrrr YOOOOOOOOOOOOoooIIIiioooooooooo  GGGgrrrrruuuuurrrrrlll!!!!"

Dropping her head when Dulob is trampled, Desiraye quickly raises it and tries to shrug off the fact that the Dralasite is dead and won't be getting off Volturnus anytime soon.  Clutching her laser rifle, Desi runs full speed towards the hole where everyone else is moving to and once again, falls prone aiming at the charging dino-creature.  "LET'S MOVE!  LET'S MOVE!  LET'S GET SOME FIRE GOING OUT BEFORE IT CLOSES WITH US!"

Desi is going prone, taking an aiming action, and firing a [10] SEU shot when she thinks she has the proper sight picture.

Inta runs to the entrance with an eye out for colliding bodies.

After most of the group arrives in the tunnel Kri'lik asks, "Food, do any of you have any food, I have been here for weeks it seems? My survival rations ran out 2 days ago. Luckly I was able to ration my little remaining water down here out of the sun." The contents of his survival kit are scattered about the tunnel, it is quite obvious that someone has been here for quite some time.

Still panting from the nearly 1km sprint, Bartja pulls his pack around and begins digging into it.  He pulls a ration pack out and hands it to Kri'lik, followed by a liter of water.

"No use saving this stuff.  If we don't die here from exhaustion, we'll die by the hand of the Sathar."  The vrusk may not fully understand his comment but right now Bartja felt too weak to explain any further.

"Thank you, I needed that very much." Looking over the assembeled group the vrusk says, "I am a doctor, is anyone hurt?"

Bartja pulls back one of his skin flaps to show Kri'lik the nasty bite wound along his ribs.

"I've felt better.  I tried to patch this up but as you can see, I botched it.  Now I'm just trying to hold off infection until we get to a hospital.  Maybe you can sew it up better than I did?"

  "Oh, most certainly. I have my tools about here somewhere." He says as he back up in the tunnel and begins to move some of the clutter which has been his home for the last few weeks. "Ah here it is, come over here so I can have a look at that. Oh watch your step there." Pointing at some of his survival gear.

"Uhm I hate to point out the obvious but Dino-Cat is still heading in our direction." Inta prepares another grenade to help to deter the curious kitty.

While trying to catch her breath, Becka will help Inta and use a frag grenade to deter the pursuer.

OOC - I was going to say "purr-suer", but that's an awful pun even by my [low] standards.

Lerku carefully sneaks back toward the entrance (behind the grenade throwers) to see if he should shoot his needler rifle again.

It begins to get very crowded at the tunnel entrance as the dinosaur cat comes close.  Grenades fly, and the frag grenade in particular seems to stun the creature.  It shakes its head as you all jump into the hole.

You close the entrance up but can't help wondering if perhaps the creature could pry it open and maybe even fit inside...if it were really hungry, that is.

Looking more closely at the assembled group, the vrusk says, "You do not look quite like rescuers. What brings you here?"

Frisky says, "Like you, we we crash landed.  Pirates sabotaged our ship.  But we've made friends with an intelligent race.  This is a Sathar artifact you're holed up in, and it may just be sending signals to the Sathar.  We're here to stop that."

"My word, I knew it was something. This thing shot down my jetcpoter. If you are here to destroy it, perhaps these can help?" He points to a few side arms lying in his makeshift camp. Anyone skilled in firearms would easily recognize the weapons as a gyrojet pistol, laser pistol and laser rifle.  "I have never used one of those before. I'm just a professor of medicine." He said with a shrug. “However since I am not going anywhere by myself, I offer up my skills to aid you all. Plus I need a ride.”

Grinning at Kri'lik's words, Becka tells him, "Then you will fit in this bunch just fine.  I think most of us are looking for transport as soon as we can arrange it."

Desiraye slides down into the hole with the others and greets the neewest survivor of the Pirates sttacks.  She looks down at the weapons and listens to the story of the professor and moves to look at the status of the weapons he is offering.  "It's nice to meet you professor, I'm Desiraye Lipost.  You got any ammo for these weapons here?"
