You go through the southern door...

...and enter a chamber containing bizarre machinery chaped like huge bulbs.  The machinery is activated and a horrid-looking robot is working with it.  As you enter the chamber, the robot grabs weapons and moves to attack you.

You can only guess that it is some kind of powerful Sathar attack robot.  It has a snake-like metal body 2 meters long, supported by treads.  It carries a weapon in each of its four limbs.  The front limbs carry laser pistols, and the rear limbs carry grenades.

It's deep mechanical voice states, "KILL ALL INTRUDERS."

Bartja briefly considered throwing his last Tangler grenade at the combat bot before them, but quickly dismissed the idea.  Something that large and powerful would not be affected by the sticky strands.  There had to be another way....

"Engage it but take cover!"  he shouts as he rushes forward to get behind the robot.  As he runs, he drops his medkit taking only his robcomkit with him.  He dodges back and forth, then slides past the metal arms while he opens the kit to remove his electro-drive.  Those arms and strange pistols were going to be trouble, but he doubted the robot was low enough level to try throwing a grenade at him when he was already at point blank range.  Then again....maybe it would and it would take care of itself (he doubted that)!

Frisky hangs a right and runs to the right corner of the room, where he ducks low, takes careful aim, and fires.

 Kri'lik the professor follows the group as they move from one room to the next. When he sees the attack robot his mandibles click together several times in fear. "Does this ever end?" He yells to no one in particular. As quickly as he can he runs for cover and readies his newly acquired disruptor pistol, waiting for the moment when he might be able to take a shot without shooting one of his new friends in the back.

Lerku looks for cover as he aims his needler rifle at the thing.

As you make your way through the door, the robot is fast, perhaps faster than you.

Bartja runs toward the robot as Frisky runs to the right.  The rest of you are preparing your weapons and looking for cover as the robot unleashes its first round.

ROUND 1
With Bartja coming toward it, the robot drops the first grenade at its own feet...

The other grenade it lobs at the door where the rest of you stand or are running from...

Its two laser pistols go off.  One of them tracks Frisky as he runs across the room and hits him.  (16 dmg).  The other hits Sergi in the gut.  (24 dmg)

ROUND 2
Tell me your actions.  The grenades will go off this round.  One bounced off the wall toward the right where Frisky went.  The other is at its own feet.)

If you were aiming above, then you can take your shot with improved accuracy or you can move away from the grenade but lose the benefit of aiming.

Lerku takes his shot, bracing for the blasts.

Sergi, still in the north room shouts

"Clear the door, let me have a shot!"

He falls to one knee to steady his weapon.

Frisky takes the shot, now even more wounded than before.  "Please say there's no more," he says.

Being at the tail end of the action, Becka has done her best to aim and take a controlled shot if available.

  The professor dives away from the grenade, his multiple legs moving faster than anyone has seen them move yet!

Desiraye will sight up and take a shot at the robot with her laser rifle set at 10 SEU output.

OOC: Sorry, I've been traveling again.

One of the grenades...hits Desi in the head (2 dmg), but that just makes it bounce into the corner where Frisky is getting ready to shoot.  It goes off, just as Frisky fires...and misses.  Smoke wafts up, and Frisky falls asleep.

These are doze grenades, you realize, which is why it dropped the other one at its own feet as Bartja ran forward.  It explodes, and Bartja is able to roll away just in time to avoid being put to sleep.  Bartja has to scurry away to the southwest corner of the room.

Now the room is covered in that knockout gas in both the southeast corner of the room (where the robot is) and the northwest corner (where Frisky is at).

Simultaneously, the robot fires off its two lasers.  One of them misses, but the other hits Lerku (12 dmg).

You guys all begin firing at the large combat robot.  Becka and Lerku miss.  Desiraye hits a scalding blast through the robot's chest...but not enough to stop it.  Sergi fires as well, and his shot takes a chuck out of the robot's shoulder.  It is still moving without difficulty, though, ready for the next round.  It is reaching toward its rear with two limbs to pull out two more grenades, while the other two are training laser pistols at you.

Kri'lik successfully dives back into the hallway away from the action...and the grenades.

There was almost no way they were going to be able to bring down a heavy combat robot with the hand weapons the group had.  Bartja waits in the corner for the gas to clear, then with electrodrive in hand, he rushes to the robot to once again attempt to gain access to its manual shutdown...

Inta switches weapons to her handy-dandy crete sprayer and aims for its arms.(OOC: as long as it won't hit Bartja)

OOC: It will probably take a few rounds for the smoke to clear...although Bartja could try holding his breath.

"Keep firing, pour it on!"

Desiraye will take aim and fire another laser bolt at the robot.

While waiting for the doze gas to clear, Bartja reluctantly pulls out his measly laser pistol and adjusts the power to max.

Before the smoke clears, Becka gets into position and keeps shooting per Sergi's suggestion.

Frisky snores like only the insectoid Vrusk can do...

Waiting on Lerku, Inta and Kri'lik...
