Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

Sergi Watchman:
"Why isn't anyone ever pleased to see us?"

he calls over to Desiraye, while looking round for something very heavy to clobber the robot with.

"Don't hurt it my ass; when I'm finished with it, it won't feel a thing!"

Sergi mutters.

"Pretty damn much Sergi," Desiraye says looking around the room.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

The robot does not appear interested in cards or answering questions.  Ospra flies at the robot, but it appears skilled and throws her aside, knocking her a hard blow in the back.  (6 dmg)

Yagrith tries to come in from behind, but a leg blow knocks him down.  (4 dmg)

Sergi and Desiraye see some chairs, a plant, two lamps, and some coffee mugs laying around.

Kuurn jumps in and manages to knock the robot down with a pin, but perhaps not for long.

Yagrith again attempts to open the control panel so as to deactivate the berserk robot. "Good work Kuurn, just keep it pinned for a bit longer!"

Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

When Desiraye sees Kuurn take the robot down in a pin, she decides against looking for a melee weapon for the time being and decides to go in and try to help the Dralasite hold the robot down while someone tries to deactivate it.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

Kuurn loses his grip, and the Gorilla begins to rise.  It is much more powerful than you think it probably allows itself to be during recreation...not to mention deadly.

But Kuurn is able to keep two appendages around its legs, and Desiraye steps in and holds it down.

Yagrith manages to successfully deactivate the robot, and you all relax.

Kri'lik is helping with the injured Vrusk.  He is alive but will need tending to for awhile.  With a smile, Kri'lik announces he should be just fine about the time you all get back from this mission.

Castuss offers to help watch over the injured Vrusk, who is still unconscious.

Desiraye gets up and offers a hand to Kurrn so the Dralasite can get off of the robot.  "Nice job," she says to Kurrn as they look at the deactivated robot.  "What the hell was that all about?  Has that happened before with your 'Gorilla' model?  Hey Doc!  Check out our new team mate to make sure that their all right!"

Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

"Now, let's find out what happened to our friend the Gorilla," growl Yagrith. He will first try to identify the robot, determining its level, then will try to list functions, in an attempt to see what the robot's mission and functions are (and to get a clue as whether they've been altered by someone).

[13:37, Today: Yagrith rolled 96 using 1d100. list functions.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

The Captain soberly says nothing like this has ever happened before.  The scared dralasite and concerned yazirian confirms this.

Yagrith opens up the robot and finds:

It is a level 4 robot.
Its programs are:  Security Lock, Self-defense (Matrixinfected),
Wrestling (custom).

Yagrith determines that it was a programming fault with the self-defense mechanism.  It apparently sent the robot into a self-defense mode which overrode its inability to harm others.  There is no evidence of tampering or sabotage.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

Yagrith reports his findings to the rest of the group. "Appears to be a poor job of programming. Not sure why. Hrrg, certainly not the caliber of work I aspire to!

Captain, when was the last time the Gorilla was serviced or had its programming updated? And one other question -- has this particular unit ever been down to Jetsom? Because I suspect the activity we've seen out of Gorilla may be similar to what made everything go haywire down there."

Yagrith will then attempt a repair of the robot to correct the error in its self-defense function.

15:35, Today: Yagrith rolled 52 using 1d100. repair Gorilla.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

The captain says, "We have never seen any problems like this.  The robot has never been to Jetsom, and I think it was probably last serviced before we arrived here."

Yagrith determines that he could, in fact, repair the robot, but that it would take a great deal of time and effort, at least several full time days worth of work, and his time is probably best spent preparing for the descent to Jetsom.  The captain says he will have someone look at it and not to worry.

"Well," he says, "now that this crazy incident has passed, I should thank you.  Would you like to rest now until your descent in the morning?  It is nearing midnight, and I fear you will only have about 5 hours of rest."

If no one has anything else here for the Captain?   "I think we'll take our leave and get that five hours of rest then Captain!  I take the rest of our gear will be brought aboard from our ship and be waiting for us (if it isn't already?) this way we can keep our departure schedule to Jetsom?"

Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

Professor Kri'lik applies what aid he can to the injured Vrusk then tends to to injuries Kuurn. "My medical kit is on the other ship, Captain would you have one near by so I may look after Kuurn's injury. It's best if we are all in peak performance before we head to the Jetsom."

If given a med kit I will provide first aid to Kuurn.

Once Kuurn is seen to Dr. Kri'lik will get what sleep he can before the mission starts.

Having viewed the mayhem and dropped the lamp he was about to use to brain (CPU?) the robot with...

"Desiraye, that sounds like a sensible idea.  Good night everyone, I'll see you when the fun starts!"

Re: Bugs in the System 1-2

The Captain directs you to the medical area, where there are some medkits.

NOTE: Healing Ospra and Yagrith will take one hour each.  There will be a -5% modifier per hour (for reactions and battle) due to lack of rest, or they can continue with the injuries and you can perhaps heal them later.  These are bruises and strains which take a bit longer than the normal injury repair.

Seeing that the two newbies don't want any medical attention, Desiraye gets ready to go and get some sleep.  "Five hours isn't a lot of time so let's hit the rack.  See everyone at zero-five hundred hours!"

The professor grumbles something in Vrusk about 'Have it your way' and then follows the rest off to their designated areas for sleeping.
