Ospra will try to use her psycho-social skills to try to coax the young sape to be friendly.  "It's okay," she says, "we are here to help you."

Yag looks a little sheepish. "I, uh, fixed the info storage system. But there isn't any information in it.

Someone else with computer skills, give a try to repairing the communication system. I wasn't able to. Something tells me that when we get all these systems repaired we'll have a much easier time of it around here."

Re: Bugs in the System 1-4

Ospra is unable to connect with the sape directly, but her psychosocial skills let her know that the young sape is mentally disturbed somehow, making him act like a young cub instead of an adolescent.

Upon hearing Yagrith's voice and seeing Yagrith, the sape bounds off the bed, runs to Yagrith, and clings to his leg.  It utters the words, "Mama!  Mama!"

S'Krllk looks at Yagrith's situation, and says, "I've always found mechanical constructs easier to deal with than those of organic nature. I'll leave the rest of you to deal with this and follow Yagrith's suggestion to attempt repair on the communications system of the computer."
S'Krllk will spend a fair amount of time working on the computer system, basically avoiding the sape.

23:50, Today: S'Krllk rolled 69 using 1d100+20. communication program on computer.

Yag looks bemused. "Uh, well, uh..." Then, with a look to the others and a shrug, crouches down, looks the sape in the eyes and says, "There there, now, sweetheart. It's OK. Tell mama what's wrong."

"Hey Yagrith, looks like you've made a friend.  Do we take him with us or restrain him here?  Given the attitude of the robots and defence systems on this tub I don't like the idea of having him tag along.  I've an idea that things are likely to get even more interesting and I'd prefer to have my ass covered."

Re: Bugs in the System 1-4

The sape does not appear to respond to any comments.  It just stays near Yagrith uttering the occasional "Mama" and reaching out to touch Yagrith on the arm or leg for comfort.  As Ospra pointed out, it is mentally disturbed and thinks like a cub.

Professor Kri'lik's voice is heard over the commlinks. "I need a tech in here quickly. I want to save this Yazirian's life! We need to supply an new power source to this freeze field. I dont relish the idea at the moment but I will give up my power back pack. That should provide enough SEU's to keep him alive until we get off this place."

I have 95 SEU on the pack that would be enough for 39.58 days. Hope that cuts it.

Current STA 35/35

Laser Rifle (5 SEU setting)
Laser Pistol (5 SEU setting)
Albedo Screen
Military Skeinsuits (50 STA)
Power Back Pack (95 SEU remaining)
2 SEU clips
Chill Suit set to 2 SEU/hr per msg #77. 46 SEU remaining.

First Aid/Biocort Use:
Desiraye - n/a (hurt), Kri'lik - n/a, Kuurn - n/a, Ospra - n/a (hurt), Parson - n/a, S'Krllk - n/a, Sergi - n/a, Yagrith - n/a (hurt).

Ospra says, "S'krllk is the one trained to do that kind of conversion for SEU.  He did a great job back on Volturnus, from what I heard."

She steps forward to the young sape.  "I will try to use my psycho-pathology skills to try to cure this young sape of his illness.  It may take some time, and Yagrith may need to stay here too, since it's fairly well attached to him."

Re: Bugs in the System 1-4

Ospra is somewhat successful in her psychopathology attempt.  The young sape stops grabbing Yagrith and is able to obey simple commands, but you are not sure how much it will obey.  Also, it seems to stay very near Yagrith for comfort and protection, still thinking of Yagrith as its mother. It is also very resistant -- and may perhaps get violent -- to attempts to keep it any distance from Yagrith.

Kuurn tries the shower and makes sure the lavatory works.  He awaits instructions from Desiraye about moving his group.  "Ready to move on?  I guess we'll find more answers the more we get out and explore this bucket of metal."

Yag tries to be a soothing parental figure and encourages the Sape to follow him as he heads back to the computer terminal. "Osprah, keep an eye on this little fellow. I'm still not sure whether he'll get agitated and attack me."

[Did S'Krllk succeed in repairing the Communication program? I think his roll might have been a success.]

You successfully convert the power pack.

In the restroom area, no water runs in the basins or watercloset area.  The shower is operable, but it only produces a very hot, scalding water that will not adjust.

Yes, Yagrith was successful.

With the communications program fixed, Yag will go back to the intercom (making sure to take his new Sape charge in tow) and again test speaking into and listening to the various channels. [The goal here is to find out if the intercoms arenow linked to the correct rooms.]

Kuurn finds that the hatch leading to the C area is locked and will not open for him.

[OOC: appears we have now explored all the rooms in the 'B' module. Let me see if I can get a little info before we explore further.]

Now that the intercom is working, Yag will once again push each button in sequence, listening to see if he can hear anything. He is trying to determine if he can hear any sounds of distress / people / robots / fighting etc. from the other rooms so that the group will know what to expect when exploring.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-4

Unfortunately, he finds the intercom is only one way.  In other words, those in the other rooms would have to push a button for him to hear any response.  This is, in effect, a "privacy guard."

Kuurn says, "I think we need to do some more exploring here to get a good picture."  He goes southeast toward area C.

Desiraye puts up her hand (non-aggressively) for Kurrn to stop as he goes for the 'C' area.  "Kuurn, hold up a second!  By the way I see it, we have "A" & 'B' areas secured.  "B' area is going to be our main operating center until further notice and we're all ready to move on to clear the other areas.  Remember, when we go into a new area, I want us together as a team supporting each other.  I think we've done enough work for today.  Secure the area for the evening and we push on in the morning."
