Yagrith nods in thanks to Sergi for freeing him from the tangler, then takes a look around the room. Given his skills, he's looking for two things: computers and robots.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-4

OOC: Let me clear up a little mess of my own making.  I mistakenly only had the laser turret fire once instead of twice each round, and I also mistakenly forgot to add in the albedo screens. You get lucky on the turret firing.

Here's how albedo screens work:

quote:
Albedo Screen. An albedo screen projects a silvery aura that absorbs laser damage. The aura completely surrounds the person wearing the screen. For every 5 points (or fraction of 5 points) absorbed, 1 SEU is drained from the power source. For example, absorbing 11 points of damage drains 3 SEU. The person wearing the screen will take no damage from lasers as long as the power holds out. A person can fire a laser weapon out of an albedo screen.

So if your albedo screen was on, instead of physically taking damage, please subtract the SEU from the albedo screen.

Room A3
FOYER

When the door closes, it takes a few minutes, but the room returns to normal temperature and oxygen levels.

30 minutes in the cold total.
(Subtract from your SEU accordingly on the chillsuits.  If you make adjustments to your SEU settings, let me know.  Otherwise, it will continue to drain.)

The turret is wired directly into the security system so there's no way to actually tap into it or check it out.  The turrent has been destroyed.  There are no computers in the foyer, just doors leading out.

"I don't clearly remember which door goes where, if anyone can recall, I would suggest we head towards the living quarters. That would be where we are likely to find any remaining crewmen."
S'Krllk looks hopefully at the others, as he doesn't want to be the one to decide what to do next.

"To the south then?" Ospra offers, opening the southern door to see what greets them.

Parson is quiet, obviously content to let others decide upon their course through the derelict station.  He does however ready his pistol when Ospra moves to open the southern door.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-4

The southwestern door opens into a short corridor that ends in another door.  These doors are like hatches and the corridor apparently will seal in case of a breach in the hull of another section of the ship -- i.e., like airlocks.  The far door is closed.

EDIT: I'm assuming you are bringing your maintenance robot along with you.

Yes, Yag will look after the robot and encourage him to follow along.

Before Osprah opens the door, Yag will move to one side of the corridor, drop to one knee, pull his gyro weapon and aim it at the door. "Might as well be cautious," he mutters.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-4

Ospra walks up to the door at the end of the corridor.

You see that, as a safety precaution, a hatch is automatically locked as long as its opposite number is open. You could disengage the lock or all get into the corridor and close the other door behind you to have it automatically disengage.

On each side of every hatch there is an environment indicator panel that shows the temperature, pressure, oxygen and radiation levels on the far side.

The indicator panel here reads:

Envt: T = -10; O = Std; R = 0.

"Well, if I remember reading the chillsuit instructions correctly, at -10 we won't take any damage even with chillsuits set at SEU 0. Of course, that's if the environmental monitor is correct.

What say we all crowd in here and close the airlock behind us?"
he mumbles.

"It's cold on the other side but not too cold and thats a good sign.  If there was a serious breach on the other side, we'd be seeing lower temps as well as no oxygen.  I say open it."

Re: Bugs in the System 1-4

You enter the corridor, and the door behind you shuts.  The door in front of you then unlocks and you enter the area marked B1.

This is a common room with furniture.  The only occupant of this room is a domestic duties robot. It has tidied up the room to an extremely tidy state.  The furniture is arranged in a precise pattern, and there is no garbage or other small objects anywhere.  The robot stands in the far corner and appears to be operating normally, cleaning.

The robot has a cylindrical body, with the rubbish pulverizer hatch half way up. It has four wheels and four limbs arranged like the spokes of a wheel. Its video and audio sensor array is at the top of its body.

This room also contains computer terminal Term-6. On the wall above the terminal is a large tri-vid screen.  On the screen you see children's cartoons running
backwards, accompanied by the soundtrack of a teach-yourself-astrogation course.  There is also a food dispenser near the terminal.

"Something doesn't seem right," grumbles Yagrith. "Don't touch anything, and don't mess anything up. Something tells me this overly-clean robot might have a screw loose."

Turning to Sergi, Desirye and the other well-armed party members, he says "Cover me! I'm going to check out that robot." And with a glance toward the party's maintenance robot, says: "And you stay here in the hallway. If something is making that other robot whacko, it may get you, too.

That plan sound good to all of you?"

Kri'lik stays to the back of the group still well within the airlock corridor. With the door now open to the new chamber he glances at his Atmospheric-CAS to see if its readings are the same as those upon the airlock door.
