Re: Bugs In The System 1-6

S'Krllk spent whatever time wasn't occupied in dissecting the security robot in  assessing the status of the environmental systems. It wouldn't do to have them pump curry through the oxygen manifolds.
After assuring nothing will kill them while they do so, he joins the others in catching a few well-earned z's.

Re: Bugs In The System 1-6

"No problem Yagrith. Just remember to take it easy for a few days..." The doc looks around as he says that. "Well you know what I mean. Now get some sleep."

With the surgery completed and Yag resting the professor takes a moment to rest. He then notices the new equipment that Ospra brought into the room. Seeing the power beltpacks he grabs one for himself and straps it on. "This will come in handy until we resupply from the shuttle." He then makes the necessary connections to power his screen and laser pistol.

GM how much biocort did I use to heal Yag. 1 per 10 STA.

Re: Bugs In The System 1-6

Kri'lik used 5 biocort.

I'm assuming you are all moving back to the crew quarters area for sleep, taking your haul with you.

You are able to determine that removing the turret and getting down to the grenades will take 10d10 hours...assuming you have the right tools.

S'Krllk, meanwhile has used his skills to look into the robot, finding that the security robot was a robot warden in charge of looking out for the sapes in the C Area and preventing them from causing problems.  Obviously, the warden has had a malfunction, given the state of the sapes and the fact that the warden attacked you.

S'Krllk also finds out the following info:

TYPE: SW-66 Sape Warden Robot
Robot Level = Level 4 – capable of verbal communication
Type = Security Robot
Body Type = Anthropomorphic
Parabattery Type = 2
Move Mode = Mechanical Legs

Equipment = Infra-red sensors, electrified dermal plating (treat as stunstick whenever SW-66 touches any character).

Mission:
Secure area

Functions:
Secure – Identify threats to security by watching actions of all living beings in the area. Use electrified dermal plating and wrestling techniques provided by the Restrain program to pacify hostile situations. Resort to Attack/Defense program only when no other option exists. Primary duty is to secure Sape activities (Sape identification is programmed into the robot’s memory – visual, audio, and behavioral).

Area – the building around it – a layout drawing is programmed into the robot to explain limitations.

You settle in for the night, ready to tackle more problems the next day.  The sapes are fine for now, but their food supply will be scant the next day (although part of the supply is random (dice rolled)).

OOC: Let me know if you are going to post a guard, recharge backpacks and power supplies, or do any other activities before sleeping.

S'Krllk informs the others that the robot's purpose was to keep the sapes from causing trouble. "Considering the offensive and defensive capabilities of the robot, we'll probably need to be watching the sapes. Perhaps we should all take our rest in a common area and take turns watching for trouble."

Re: Bugs In The System 1-6

Desiraye finishes clearing the wrecked shuttle and puts one of the 20 SEU powerclips back into the empty pouch on her vest and and keeps the spent one to be recharged in another pocket.  She catches up with Ospra and lends a hand with the other suits and gear they found.

Upon getting together with the rest of the party, Desi is concerned about the status of Yagrith and makes sure that Doc makes sure that he's as comfortable as possible after the surgery.

"OK, we've found some more suits, breathing masks, 20 SEU clips, and powerbelts.  I think we should charge up whatever packs or clips we have and get ready to set up a watch for the evening.  I think we're all pretty much wiped out from today and can use the rest.  Tomorrow, we should try and figure out what to do with the Sapes and maybe look into fixing their feeder."

You go to sleep for the night...

(Please indicate who is recharging packs by sending a private line or public post here.  Otherwise, I will assume they are not recharged.)
quote:
Above one of the benches is a power socket for
recharging power beltpacks and backpacks.

There is just one power socket, so it can recharge one beltpack or backpack every 4 hours.

You wake up having had a peaceful sleep, believe it or not.  The powerpacks you charged are fully charged (assuming you didn't try to charge too many) and nothing strange happened during the night.

If there is an outlet for charging 20 SEU clips, Desiraye will take the empty one from her person and recharge it during the night.

"Yag had a good idea.  He suggests we try and fix the feeders for the Sapes so that's one less problem we can have during our next month or so here.  If we can get them in their cages, we should be able to keep them at bay wwhile the techs see about the repairs.  I don't know if it has anything to do with the computers but, maybe there's a program that controls that too?  OUt of my league there, just a thought."

"Right, Desi" growls Yag. "I'm all about computers and robots, not so much about fixing standard technical stuff. So maybe I'll take another look at the computer in here, and someone else can take a look at the food dispenser itself?"

Yag goes to the computer to see if he can find any programs that would affect the Sape feeding machine.

S'Krllk pipes up, "I maintained the dispensers at one of my previous posts, though I suspect there's a difference between feeding sapes and Jovian thessalopods, which I never got to see, incidentally. I'll see what I can do with the dispensers if someone can make sure the sapes don't decide that I'm substitute rations."

Ospra recharges her backpack during the night, doing it during her watch.  She agrees with the other plan.  "I'll help look at the dispenser while S'Krllk looks at the turret grenades.  Remember, there is a turret on both sides of Jetsom, so two people can work on that, one on each side."

Re: Bugs In The System 1-6

Everyone wakes up feeling fine and ready for the next day.  Nothing special happened during the night.

You are not able to fix the sape dispensers, but you are able to keep the sapes fed using the dispenser food and fish from the dispenser in the bunk rooms.

OOC: I hope everyone said what they wanted to do during the night.  I'm not sure what your plan is now.

OOC: Back in town now...

The gun turrets have been fully destroyed.  It will take at least until the end of the day to extract any grenades from them.

You find that the guns "recharged" are not actually recharged at all, but in fact have been drained of all SEU!  Osprah's gun is useless now until recharged.  (I think one other person recharged too.)

Next stop...D Section?  Everyone in?

Upon hearing of the drained hardware, S'Krllk remarks, "I would suspect it's outside the realm of chance for so many equipment failures to be unrelated. Either they had this thing designed by a committee of early model androids or there's some other factor at work."

"Could be, Desi," growls Yag. "But that wouldn't explain why the robots have gone haywire, too. I suspect it's a larger problem affecting all electronics. Maybe a sunspot or magnetic pulse sent by the gas giant? In any case, I think fixing computers will go a long way toward getting things back to normal. Let's head over to E section and see what we can find out."

Re: Bugs In The System 1-6

E1. Control Room
Envt: T = -10; O = Std; R = 0.

This is the platform's main control and monitoring room. Its only occupant is the general maintenance robot that stands quietly in the center of the room.  The robot is apparently in full working order and you see nothing out of the ordinary about it.

The robot has a conical body with six small wheels hidden beneath the wide base. It has three mechanical arms; two with grabs and one with a multi-tool attachment. The robot's video and audio sensor array is mounted at the top of the
cone.

Around the Room are three workstations, each with its own chair.  They have terminals with various gauges at each workstation.

To save time, I'm giving out the description of each workstation:

Workstation #1:
Still and Buoyancy Control.

This consists of computer terminal Term2 and a large panel of gauges and indicator lights showing the condition of the reactors, the biochemical
still and the platform's buoyancy bags. At present, all the gauges and lights
show "green" except for one flashing red light labeled "WARNING: Cryogenic collection tanks full".

Workstation #2:
External Monitors Screen.

This consists of a large monitor screen that shows the view from any one of the cameras mounted on the outside of the platform. There are 32 cameras in all. Below the screen is the on/off switch, camera selector, contrast and magnification controls.

Workstation #3:
Communications Console.

The platform's subspace radio communications equipment is operated from here. The subspace radio appears operational.

Two indicator lights at the workstation are glowing red. These are labeled "WARNING: Antenna inoperative" and "WARNING: Communications Program Fault".

At the circled "2" is Terminal 2, which connects to your intranet system throughout Jetsom.

Besides the airlock you came from, there are two doors, one into E2 and one to E3.
