Professor Kri'lik will look for any signs of the compound found on the laser pistol. Doors, lockers, anywhere a hand might touch.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-8

You search inside and out for about 10 minutes.

You find a concealed camera and microphone in the meeting room.

You find a hidden switch on the computer terminal that throws up on the screen what is being filmed by the concealed camera in the other room.

You do not find any of the lubricant anywhere else.

You quickly check the computer logs for video from that camera but find that there are about 10 minutes erased from the system.

5 minutes left before Ellen comes in.

The ship's alarms begin to go off.

The ship's alarms begin to go off.

1). We need to find if the concealed camera and microphone has any data from it (audio/video) if it exists and where the 10 minutes went.  Does it go anywhere else?  WHo erased it and who had access to the computer beside the Captain.

2). It appears that the Captain is/was spying on the meeting in the conference room.  Thoughts?  Ideas?  Maybe he found a spy or a saboteur onboard his ship?

"You gotta be kiddin' me!" Desiraye shouts out loud when she hears the alarm go off.  He looks quickly around the room to the others and tells them, "Parson, Yag!  Stay here and keep going through the room the best you can.  Find something we can use!  The rest of you follow me.  Let's see what kind of mess we've gotten into now."

S'Krllk and Yag are not having much luck with the computer, but the moment the alarms go off, they see a message pop up on the screen that says:

ALERT!
LIFEBOAT LAUNCHED.
ALERT!
LIFEBOAT LAUNCHED.

A moment later, you hear Ellen's voice over the intercom.  "Everyone to the bridge immediately.  A lifeboat has been launched.  That includes our crew and guests.  To the bridge."

Re: Bugs in the System 1-8

You go to the bridge.  Everyone is there except Castuss, the Yazirian sape handler who said he was going to go try to find a "way out."

Ellen says, "The alarm system goes out when someone sends out a lifeboat.  One of the lifeboats went out where Castuss was going, and we just got this message."

She plays a distress message.  You hear Castuss' voice, calmly stating:

"Help.  Distress.  Something's wrong.  I didn't mean to eject the lifeboat.  Help."

Then it cuts out.

Ellen says, "Apparently, Castuss found his 'way out' he mentioned and took the lifeboat."  (She shows on the map of the ship that it was at M2.)

Daqor says, "No.  It can't be.  The lifeboat had no safe destination in range."

"It's a suicide mission," Baralou mutters under her breath.

Daqor begins swearing, becoming anry and agitated.  He swears, "I'm going to get that electric but that killed my friend.  It's gotta be this matrix thing that did this to him.  He would never kill himself.  Never!"

He jumps up to make good on his promise, and begins smashing at the ship's electronic systems.

Ellen and Fiator try to calm him, talking to him and reassuring him, but he continues to hit and damage the electronics.

Ellen looks to you for help in subduing or talking him down.

REMINDER: Daqor is an early-middle aged Vrusk of military bearing. He feels
deeply ashamed not to have gone on the ill-fated rescue mission
and would give anything to "have a go" at whatever killed his
"comrades".

Re: Bugs in the System 1-8

Desiraye's face goes sour when she hears the distress signal that Ellen plays for everyone.  "What the hell kind of distress signal was that?  Maybe it's just me but, I think that if you were accidently locked in an escape capsule and under obvious duress and looking for 'a way out'.  Seems way to convenient for me, I'm sorry," she begins to continue as Desi watches as Daqor begins tearing into the electronic systems.

Desiraye moves over to where he is and shouts at him, "THAT'S NOT GOING TO SOLVE ANYTHING!  PLEASE STOP DAQOR, I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO HURT YOU," she says as she moves closer as she draws out her stun baton.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-8

Ellen jumps in and sticks a hypo in Daqor's neck.  He struggles a moment, then slumps to the ground unconscious.

"That should hold him," Ellen says.  She puts the hypo on the counter and you see it was a dose of Telol.  She says to Fiator, "Let's take him to the sick-bay and strap him down."

She and Fiator begin moving out Daqor's body.

Desiraye turns off her stun baton and puts it away when the Yazirian falls to the floor.  She shakes her head and tunrs to Sergi, "Sergi, take Doc with you to make sure that Daqor is OK and remains calm.  Yag, check out the electronics while we're here to make sure he didn't break anything too important."

Despite seeing that none of the electronics seem to be harmed, Yag plays dumb so he has an excuse to look things over.

"Looks like he might have damaged a system or two here. Let me take a closer look." He checks out the machinery to see if there is any sign of tampering or presence of the Matrix virus.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-8

<blue>Yag begins checking the computer systems.  He doesn't find any direct evidence of the matrix, but remembers taht the matrix left no direct evidence previously, so he doesn't know what he can do to prove if it's there or not other than look for symptoms.  However, he finds that the distress call from Castuss was actually produced from within the M/MN/CN (communications) and M/MN/LG (languages) programs under Baralou's command.

He also seems to find that there is some sort of "hardware fault" (i.e. a problem with the actual electronic components), but it doesn't seem to be a "program bug" like the matrix was on Jetsom.

Kri'lik goes to Deck 5 where the sick bay is at (M13).  Daqor remains unconscious and will be in that way for some time, so there is little Kri'lik can do to help.  Ellen leaves to about her business again and to start moving into the captain's cabin.

The sick bay has all the equipment needed to heal sick or wounded characters, just shy of a surgical center--so not quite the hospital needed to turn off freeze fields or take away radiation damage.  There are four recovery couches, each with a freeze field.  The equipment and supplies are about equal to 10 medkits.

In a corner of the room is a general access computer terminal (Term-12).

Heavy security doors and a security robot block access to M15.

Everyone else is on the bridge on Deck 2 (M3).  A large observation dome in the ceiling dominates the bridge. The captain's chair is on a platform under the center of the dome, giving a clear view.  Incorporated into the captain's chair is computer terminal Term-2. The bridge also contains the astrogator's chair (with terminal Term-3, and screens displaying information from the navigation
instruments) and the pilot's chair (with terminal Term-1).
