Re: Bugs in the System 1-11

You are all minus 5 points damage from radiation.  Yag is -7 for trying to disable the robot and getting too close.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-11

S'Krllk attempts to skirt the walls and stay as far from the robot as possible while he makes his way to the area with the terminal. If the robot actually enters the elevator (which is what S'Krllk thinks it will do), then he'll be protected from the radiation.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-11

The professor opens the left pod door and readies himself to jump into it if the droid moves his way. Hes of no use to the rest of the group if he dies of radiation poisoning and he figures the pod is designed for space operations so it should be shielded.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-11

The professor opens the pod door and looks inside.

S'Krllk finds that the robot is between himself and the elevator.  In fact, the robot is standing right nearby.  However, he can probably squeeze by if he risks touching the radioactive thing (which would be an extr +2 damage if he misses a DEX check).

After losing his breakfast Yag tries to get up and make his way to the airlock where he can get some protection from radiation.

Yag successfully gets in the airlock.  Is he going to close the door or let others in first?

Heaving and wretching, Yag yells for the others to join him in the airlock and keeps the door open for them.

When the professor opens the pod door his body uncharacteristically locks up. One of his hands is on the door, the other still holds his laser pistol but it is casually pointed towards the floor and his head is gazing into the pod.

Again, keeping as far from the robot as possible, S'Krllk heads for the airlock. "Don't try those suits without checking them first! They're certain to be sabotaged!"

Re: Bugs in the System 1-11

Yag, S'Krllk, Desiraye, and Kuurn go to the airlock away from the robot.  Kri'lik is standing immobile near the pod, staring in silently.

The airlock door is currently open.

The robot does not follow you into the airlock.  Rather, it starts moving toward Kri'lik, obviously protecting the computer system and regarding anyone in the room as a threat.

Everyone loses 5 more STA due to radiation poisoning.

Yag howls in rage at the group's predicament. He grabs a radiation suit (assuming there is one) and gives it an inspection to see if it looks functional. "We've gotta get these on and then try to save Krill'k!" he growls.

The radiation suits do not appear to be tampered with.  There is enough for everyone to have one.

Yag quickly dons a suit. "Allright, everyone get a suit on. Someone come with me to help grab Krill'k. The rest of you, stay here with weapons on full and get ready to blast that robot if need be."

After getting in the suit he heads to out to his stricken comrade, one eye on the robot.

Kri'lik hears his name and his head turns slightly as if he is thinking heavily on something. Suddenly he tries to slam the pod door closed and dives for cover at the same time. "Baralou's in there!" He yells.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-11

The moment Kri'lik says this, a laser beam flies from inside the pod, hitting Kri'lik just before he can get the pod door closed -- those darned, slow mechanical doors.  (24 damage -- less if you have a proper protective shield)

Once the pod door closes, a release button from inside is pushed, and the pod is flung away by the artificial gravity of Moneyspider.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-11

OOC So an albedo screen with a belt a belt pack 50 SEU absorbs 2 Dmg per SEU correct? Im away from my books at the moment. If so then I think my screen would take the hit. I also have a skinsuit on as well.

Kuurn dons the radiation suit with two pseudopods, using a third to aim his laser rifle.  He joins Yag.  "Let's do this."

S'Krllk dons a radiation suit, he suggests, "If Baralou is fleeing, shouldn't we worry about what he's fleeing from, since we're still here?"
As he turns to the airlock door heading into the engine room, he stops and says, "Try not to damage those things the robot carries, they may be important. I'm going to check the engine room."

Re: Bugs in the System 1-11

You all put radiation suits on.  The robot stays near the computer terminal.

S'Krllk investigates the engines.  The engines look like normal engines with nothing wrong.

OOC: Here's what the official description says:

Characters without special spaceship engineering
skill will not understand the workings of the
engines, and cannot repair, operate or modify
them.

"I didn't see any bombs, or anything that looked imminently destructive. We need to save the doc and get back topside. If Baralou is really leaving, we're sure to be in danger. If Baralou isn't leaving, then we need to try to refuse the re-boarding."
S'Krllk is apparently nervous, probably scared, or maybe just cracking under the strain of not being dead yet.

Re: Bugs in the System 1-11

Doctor Kri'lik pulls himself up from the floor. He appears unhurt by the laser blast as it seems his active albedo screen absorbed the beam. "I can't believe Baralou was in that pod. I was only looking for a place to hide from the radioactive materials."

"What now?" He says as he puts on the radiation suit.

Screen took 5 SEU fromt he belt to absorb the laser blast.
