Some stuff has come up in private that I thought I would also answer in public...

--"If Amberites are really long-lived, how old should we be really?"


GM's answer: How long do you want? I could see you being anywhere from actually being in your late teens to being 100 years old or more (though as an Amberite, at 100 years old, you'd still easily look under 30), in which case you would have been hidden from the rest of the family by your parent, so as not to have the rest of the family bugging you until you were emotionally mature.

(And Amberites can sometimes take a long time to really emotionally mature.)


Questions for people who are familiar with the series:

--"When does the stuff in the series take place?"

GM's Answer: The stuff in Book 5 took place in 1978 (by Earth time, obviously, but just to give you an idea).

The stuff in Book 10 took place in 1991 (again, Earth time.)


--"Were our characters involved in the stuff in the books?"

GM's Answer: No. Either you were 1. too young, or 2. your parent made sure to keep you out of it, or 3. You decided on your own to stay out of it and not get involved.

No PC in this game will have been involved directly in the canon events of the first 10 books.



(Incidentally, I do not consider the later "Oberon books" by that other author to be canon, and have not read them.

I have read all the short stories Zelazny wrote after book 10, though.)
