First, I'm not a historian. I'm just trying to fit D&D into a fantasy Earth based on what I've read in fiction and fable over the years.

I have found a lack of places to put goblins, as the only sources I've ever seen them in, outside a game, were Chinese based historical fantasies. Looking at a map, this gave me Siberia as a very large empty spot to put them. The trick was getting there.

So...Siberia is Russian, I googled Russian expansion into Siberia, for inspiration, and then went for it.

It gives an area with Chinese themed monsters bordering Norse themed Giants, with mongols close by, and the Himalayas near enough to contribute the one race I'd found nowhere else to place: Goliaths.

That's what we are working with: Taking land from the goblins and giving it to farmers that would rather move south to warmer climates, but will that what they can get.
