Ooo, gotcha. Are you in TX with the thoroughly jacked up power grid there? I have two friends who both moved to TX recently from nearer to me (I'm in Wisconsin) who are amused and frustrated by Texans reacting in shock and horror to what's basically just a routine February here. :)
Well a small part of it is that Texas isn't part of the national grid, but that's probably as much a good thing as a bad thing
The big problem is that no one paid extra to making sure that the big giant wind turbines couldn't freeze up
"That'll never happen here" they said
"It's not like our climate will ever change"
So they saved money by not paying for the no-freeze-up thing
