Port Loren, the throbbing heart of The Frontier, capital of Prenglar in the Gran Quivera system where every race of the Frontier can be found living and working side by side.  A melting pot of thousands of cultures from dozens of star systems, planets, moons, stations, races, religions and data sets.  Port Loren IS the Frontier, here dreams are lived and crushed, desires are satiated and tainted.  Whatever a being can imagine can be created (given enough commitment, resources and determination).  It is here people come from all across explored space to search out their hearts desire.  For those seeking adventure there is no better place to start than the Frontier Careers Convention in Port Loren, where all the megacorps and many smaller companies run seminars, recruiting workshops and advertise their wares in as many unique ways as there are markets for their products and services.

  Now that the first group of players have begun the first mini-scenario in Port Loren I want to put in place a system for introducing new players into the game.  The basic premise for all characters is that they have traveled to Port Loren from all over the Frontier, seeking their fortune.
  When they arrive on Gran Quivera they discover the economy is booming and there is virtually 100% employment, with every major Mega Corp and institution in the Frontier having a presence in Port Loren.  Visitors need only register that they are looking for employment at the Convention Centre and they will be able to secure at least a 30 day employment contract at minimum (NPC) wages.
  With such a high itinerant workforce in the capital, a system has been put in place by local authorities allowing new arrivals to book accommodation for their first month when they accept an employment contract.  The cost of the first month accommodation is deducted from the first tenday pay and the cost of the following month is deducted from the last tenday pay.
  Usually by the end of their first 30 employment contract the more adventurous characters have secured more appropriate employment but those first 30 days give them a chance to explore Port Loren and find out where the best places to shop, drink and play can be found.

So this is what new characters should do to get up to speed:

1) Create your character.

2) Make a post in the Chapter 0: Daily Diary thread.  This will be used to determine where any character may be located when a random event occurs in Port Loren.

3) Make a post in the Chapter 0: Prologue thread, give us some background about your character, find a job and somewhere to live.

4) Make a post in the Chapter 0: Prior Knowledge thread so you know where to spend your X Points when you earn them.

Completing these tasks could earn you your first and easiest X Point!

As you explore Port Loren you may wish to purchase some items, so make these purchases part of your posts so that you are ready to begin adventuring when the opportunity presents itself.
