Re: OOC THREAD for game: PANTHEON

Well that's a good one, though it reminds me of a sad story I saw once... it wasn't The Twilight Zone nor The Outer Limits nor One Step Beyond nor Thriller, but it was a show LIKE that, in black and white.

Two scientists, a man and a woman, are in charge of a find-- we've found a baby mammoth in the arctic AND MANAGED TO WAKE IT UP FROM BEING FROZEN IN THE ICE LIKE CAPTAIN AMERICA (or Aang, if that's your jam).

(On the show, they covered a real baby elephant in fur and pretended it was a baby mammoth.)

The woman scientist names the baby mammoth Toby (as I recall?) and grows very attached to it.

The man scientist finds this interesting because 1. He's attracted to her but 2. she doesn't like any sort of personal attachments to anything except baby mammoth.

He asks around and finds out that a few years ago she had a little boy but he (and her husband I think) died (car wreck?) and that's why she can't even. (I think "Toby" was the name of either her son or her son's favorite elephant toy?)

Well, after several weeks of trying to get Toby the baby mammoth to get healthy, it nonetheless passes away. Female scientist is devastated but finally lets male scientist into her emotional zone to comfort her. Although we're very sad we couldn't raise Toby into being a grown-up mammoth so that then we could have an awesome grown-up mammoth, maybe we'll find another in the ice one day, and in the meantime these two are clearly gonna get married and so on so happy ending?

But I was like nooooo Toby The Baby Mammoth!

So that is my post about Baby Mammoth Feelings.

WOWWW i found it. "Science Fiction Theatre," a show name that sounds like it was made up by a really unimaginative person, from 1955, episode "Dead Storage" with Virginia Bruce as Doctor Don't-Touch-Me-Please-I-Have-Issues (and who can blame her?)

I was apparently wrong about it being in black and white-- maybe I was watching on a black-and-white tv (every house used to have two tvs, you see-- a big color one and a cheap black-and-white one that you could move from room to room but it needed pliers to change the channel because the knob fell off and wouldn't go back on) and it was so old and cheap I presumed it was really a black and white show?

Xan:
Xan sees the Lyr.

She waves her trunk like crazy.

"They have wings like us ! We can all fly together."

A brilliant smile at the Lyr.

Here Lyric, I fixed it for you

But wait, that does raise a question-- if Xan is still in baby mammoth form, how did she get to the mountains so fast

Because AnBas carried her and he flew at his normal to fast speed.

09:58, Today: AnBas rolled 7 using 2d6 ((2,5)).

So what kind of monstrous version of a Lyr do I become this time :)

Oh, and er, GM. Do let me know if you'd like me to 'run' the Lyr during your time of not-around-that-much and/or when Noric interacts with 'em.

Same here, Both are exceptional stories, with ATLA being a true modern masterpiece.

I had the same thing growing up.  We had a large 13 inch B&W TV the Dial only went to like 13 or 20 and UHF.
That thing lasted forever!

I love Avatar the Last Airbender so much. It's one of my favourite complete stories. Haven't seen Korra, though!

My mind is blown. A dial! Like those big ol' square ones with antenna that you see on TVs and/or in dystopian Scifi shows?? That get all snowy? Wow.

Omigosh so cute.

Re: OOC THREAD for game: PANTHEON

Yeah, I'd say the 1st one is probably most accurate.  After all, I feel that when ever I got a less than good roll, AnBas' form is pulled from the collective unconscious of whatever species he is encountering interpretation of Death.

Luckily, he has Xan and eventually Lyric and Noric, who accept him for who and what he is.  So he will never become evil, he may just look it.
