"Indeed, tempers were starting to flare. And I got a strange sensation as if something was pricking at senses. So I closed my eyes and concentrated and realized someone was casting a spell! So I cast one of my own to counter it. I felt the spell break like a bubble popping. Once the spells was broken, everyone look around and calmed down, mostly. Unfortunately the second part of my spell did not go a well and instead of just the caster being outlined, those around them were as well. But it did prove that the Wererats were trying to influence the meeting. And while they have numbers, the other Were united against them would have been too much. So we were able to continue the negotiations.

"Then, a wereboar entered the tent we were all in. 'Something... horrible approaching from the east!' We all rushed outside to see... It was a sort of flesh necromata, created by sewing body parts together and animating them with necromancy... But while those usually go for two arms, two legs, and a head, this one had too many of everything-- a dozen of each category. When it spoke, it used every mouth.
'The Mage Ebez decries this gathering!' it howled.
'You have five minutes to disperse-- then this section of plain and everyone remaining on it shall be destroyed!'"
"'Some mages hate werefolk because we are naturally resistant to their craft,' a weretiger said softly within my hearing."
"'I think there's aspect to this threat that are subtle,' I said. 'A thing such as this must be controlled, and the range is not usually far. Since there's no other hiding place in range, I propose that the mage Ebez must be hiding in those hills to the east. But first...' I stepped forward and read from a small scroll I had, the Script of Unmaking. The horrible necromata fell apart into its many composite parts."
"Privately, I wondered if this Ebez had given help to the wererats to try to disrupt the negotiations, but I did not voice this suspicion-- yet."
