Yeah, pretty much, although they do technically still owe a small tribute to the queen of Sefonia every year. But the queen and the Sefonian capital is so far away from Vierna that no one thinks about her all that much. For all practical purposes, Vierna's pretty much its own deal.

So there'll be a public in-game thread... but I think each of you should also have a private in-game thread, so I can tell you about opportunities privately and no one else tries to muscle in on anything they shouldn't know about yet.

Of course there will be some times where you can team up on things, or work against each other, as you wish...

But unless someone can explain why individual private in-game threads is totally dumb thinking on my part, I'll make those soon...ish. (Remember, as I said before, starting late tomorrow morning, I'm likely to be REAL busy until Saturday morning...)

To the contrary: I play in games with another GM who uses in-game private threads and I think it makes perfect sense.

Makes perfect sense to me and I like that approach anyway. Prevents anyone from accidentally knowing too much (so if we wish, we can be sneaky or deceptive even) and also no one will end up feeling 'left behind' if their own posting rate is a little slower than someone else. I'm sure there will plenty of shared threads on top of the individual ones too from the sound of it!

I think our individual opportunities should be told to us privately not to mention the game master needs space to do things with us all by ourselves as well.

However there will be a public thread that needs to be done too so that we can talk and engage in public.

Speaking of which which of you guys see yourselves as wanting to Ally with the druids? Because I have a mission and I want to take one or two of you with. :)

In particular I think the Church of the balance would probably be very amenable to a druid circle.

Generally speaking, I think the University will be open to helping pretty much anyone with things that come up. Unless its in overthrowing the city that is! Hehe.

I have an escort mission that I need to do and I can take up to three allies because beyond that there's no bonus lol. But obviously beyond the mechanical incentive for us to work together I want there to be a narrative connection between us so that's why I want to know who among you guys would be interested in having a good relationship with a druid circle?

For a mage guild The druids are going to be a little bit cautious at first because many people want to take advantage of the ley lines of the forest however if your mages atyour college proves that they're more of the temperate kind of mages who believe in ethical research and that sort of thing the droids may be more open-minded.

If I may, and I have enjoyed this:

I have had communications with another player (won't out the player) via Private Message.  Those communications have been in character, which is why I have enjoyed it; it's kinda fun to do it that way.

And, the Private Message feature would allow messages between multiple players.

And, the GM sees all Private Messages, so nothing is outside of his view.

Just an idea.

LOL sorry I did that pose to verbally using my text feature on my cell phone and sometimes it just butchers me. I'm actually taking customer phone calls and I wanted to post in between LOL.

At least you know that these druids or are they droids are amenable to wearing metal... And circuitry LOL!

I agree private threads are probably the best way to go, but I guess there will be a general one for keeping the general history, so that  everyone may know what achievements (or failures) other groups have...

If they hear about it, yes.

There should definitely be some sort of public thread about like the state of the world and maybe rumors and tidbits not to mention tidbits related to the orders and factions that are more publicly known.

But like how the GM sort of established some game facts I think that should get put into a thread and updates in current events like for example somebody's coming to war or there's a dragon in the area or just something that lots of people are going to know about that could drive the plot a little bit should be mentioned almost like a message board or something lol.

(Goes and looks) ...Yeah, it does seem to say that. So that's what I was thinking at one point, and then at some point after that I changed my mind about how it should best work.

So the question now is do I stick to my original thinking as written, or do I change the rules to go with my new thinking...?

(Thinks) ...I will do it both ways.

If you go solo, I will roll to determine which of your Advantages and/or Disadvantages affect the situation.

If you add more help, I will add THEIR Advantages and/or Disadvantages as randomly appropriate.

AND the roll will get +1 for each of them.

BUT... however the math affects the roll, the math will max out at +3. It may not REACH +3, if other people's Disadvantages start countering things, but the total bonus will never go ABOVE +3.

I will make the rules reflect the above.
