SECOND PUBLIC IN-GAME THREAD for when the first one's busy


(CLERICS AND BARDS GIANT MISSION--

Clerical random rolls... No advantages nor disadvantages apply... BUT Gull Island and its castle (above the ground, anyway) are now cleaned up and ready for use...

Bardic random rolls... Independent and Mobility advantages apply...

Team-up bonus: +1...

Roll: 2d6+3: 11:31, Today: The GM rolled 6 using 2d6+3 ((2,1)).

OH NOOOOOOO

Clerics: Tell what terrible thing happened! (Suggestions: Giant bigger than expected, more powerful than expected, smarter than expected, more than one giant...?)

Bards: Tell how things went very wrong in spite of your team's independence and mobility...!)

SECOND PUBLIC IN-GAME THREAD for when the first one's busy

Vans Terk and his troop, accompanied by the Bards, rode the path to the WItch Couldron. It was not long until they saw a Giant chasing a deer.

Vans Terk advanced to it and tried to talk him away, only to find the Giant far more aggresive tan expected. This lead the rest of the Clerics to run towards his leader, ready to overcome the Giant, with the Bards coming behind them.

But then thigs get awry, as other, unseen giants began hurling large stones on them. BOth, Clerics and Bards lacked missile weapons, and the stones thrown did not leave them to approach to hand to ha nd, where they could have put their equipment and magic to bear.

So, both groups had to withdraw, trying to recover the fallen comrades to be healed at the Clerics hospital...

Second such low roll in a row... It seems Callum has power over dice ;)

The bards did their best when the giants attacked, but the giants just did not listen to the bards' music.  The bards were not mighty warriors.  Things might have been much worse if the bards were not so good at running away.

The Clerics get a new Disadvantage: Low Morale (CONDITIONAL 3). It will take some effort to remove...

The Bards get a Conditional on their "Powerful Reputation" advantage. It's in danger, and they'd better do something soon (something, you know, successful and impressive) if they don't want to lose their powerful reputation...

CLERICS AND BARDS:

Hm... I've rolled Opportunity...

How about I give a choice//make some suggestions:

1. Giant scouting. NOT to fight them, but to sneak around in the mountains, try to get an idea how many there are, where exactly they're based, maybe if we're lucky find some clue about some other natural enemies they might have we could trick into fighting them for us?

2. Diplomacy-- try to talk the city council into backing a Get Rid Of These Dangerous Giants plan? (Yes, this would be an actual mission... a mission of talking and persuading)

3. Forget about the giants, and go do something useful with Gull Island now that it's ready?

4. Try to come up with a new plan to go deal with those sirens??

5. Research ancient lore for clues about 1 or 4? (Yes, this would be an actual mission-- a mission of brainy researching about monster lore)

6. Suggestions? What do you want to do, if not any of these...?

Some among Clerics believe the string of bad luck is due to neglecting the shrine of Tehuti (and having Him not pleased about it).

They ask Vans Terk to find a way to finish its clearing, s othat Tehuti wil lbe pleased and maybe sending them their bless again.

As the Witch Couldron is visible from the coast, I guess it's near it, so a pier could be set there to allow travelling without havin to run the path now raided by Giants....

Once Tehuti gives them its bless again, it would be time to care about thsoe Giants and make the path safe again...

So it sounds like: CLERIC MISSION TO BUILD A PIER NEAR WITCH'S CAULDRON AND HOPE THAT THE GIANTS(/CULT OF CALUM) DON'T NOTICE THE ACTIVITY...?

Sorry for the delay.

Well, I'm only used to 1st Edition of AD&D, so it can have changed, but on it bards were also keepers of lore, and can be quite useful in this sense.

This aside, of course, hymns and other chants performed by them would be good, at least as music...
