A tribe’s sacred elders cannot brave this Earth’s cruel winds to participate in the Hunt. They lack the strength to gather such life-giving supplies as roots or medicines. There is little they could do to defend their kin against a raging beast. However it takes far more than simply keeping death at bay to ensure the burning spirit of a tribe is never extinguished.

Ancient legends brought to life by the warmth of a roaring fire. Enchanting patterns stitched into a timid child’s cloak. Words that reignite the ashen spirits of the bereaved. What you contribute to your tribe goes beyond the immediate needs of their flesh and bone. Whatever your body lacks, you more than make up for it with stewardship, wisdom and art.

EQUIPMENT
Hide clothes, a quarterstaff (counts as a small weapon), a musical instrument or painter’s kit (see TOOLS), a dewskin filled with honeywine, a purse of marrowbone, a purse of lichens and mushrooms, a wooden idol, and a painting hide covered in figures from your tribe’s legends.

BROKEN BODIES
There are many reasons why an elder may not be able to fight or forage. Some are injured beyond a hope of ever healing. Some have battled so many cruel winters that they can no longer do much else. Some simply never could. What about you?

4. One of your ears screams in constant agony, half-drowning all else.

6. A ghastly scar rendered your leg half-immobile.

7. Strength eludes your body. Lifting heavy objects is impossible; including even yourself at times.

8. A weeping burn covers a large patch of skin.
