Background: Roving Hunter

Roving Hunter (+1 to all rolls involving hunting beasts, and a +1 to all attacks with ranged weapons (these don't stack together, though.))

NOTE: This Background is not for Wall People.

You partake in the oldest tradition known to your kind: The taking of lives to ensure your
tribe’s survival. Season after grueling season, you leave your sheltered home far behind, embarking on a perilous journey to the distant hunting grounds of your ancestors.

Thick with scars, your hardened flesh knows firsthand the brutality of this world. Such brutality could crush a more pensive spirit into the red dust of the Earth. But not you. Perhaps you relish the primal thrill of knowing that a single mistake could kill you. Perhaps you privately dream of more as your aching muscles give out each night.

ABILITY:
--You get +1 to predicting what an animal might do next.

EQUIPMENT
A ghillie cloak, a stone scraper (small), a calling shell, 10 paces of rope, a full dewskin of water and a purse of blood and offal.

SPIRIT OF THE HUNT
The Hunt and the Journey are deeply personal experiences, even among those who share a hunting party. No two relationships with the spirits of the wild are alike. Tell us about yours.

Traditions Table (d8)
1. A personal rite honors each and every sacred kill.
2. Each season’s first kill is reserved for the worldly spirits who will ensure your safe passage home.
3. A piece of each kill lives on to honor its life. Some are carved into weapons; others become fetish idols or warding talismans.
4. You have vowed never to return from the hunt without a kill.
5. Never satisfied, you seek the most ferocious prey this Earth has ever known. You will yet be a legend.
6. You wear a piece of your first kill as a symbol of the tradition you keep alive.
7. Your very first hunt would have ended in disaster if not for another’s sacrifice. Now, you always honor their guiding spirit.
8. Your lethal cut is always made with a knife that was passed down from an ancestral spirit.
