Good to see some other half bloods!

I've gone ahead and spent some money on mundane adventuring gear. You never know when you're going to need a shovel...

My sheet is almost done. DM, where do we start and what are the most prevalent races in the area? (For my language choices)

We will be starting off in Deepingdale.

Most of the common races would be present, slightly fewer dwarfs, rarely a Dragonborn or a Tiefling.

Re: OOC

And so, we finish off our group with Elinor Moonshard, the high elf bound bladesinger (Wizard//Warlock) and Sariel Iilphelkiir, the wood elf repentant bow (Fighter//Rogue).

Sorry about the Elven heavy party, but the Realms do seem to attract them at a high rate.

I want to remind you to review the character creation thread, and state that your characters must be posted in your character sheet on this site. 1st level characters are not super hard to create, and I am not super picky on your character sheet as long as everything is there.

I would like a decent description of your characters in your Character description and discuss your characters here and how you meet, what someone you have been traveling with, fighting with, and having the occasional light argument with would know about each other.

Re: OOC

Considering the region it's not that odd to see a lot of elves though. Although Armat leans to a more human than elven demeanor.

As for how folk might know Armat, as mentioned he is a long-time figure in the city watch and as a Watcher of Helm he stands out. He would be beholden to uphold the authority of the Lord of Highmoon. His gifts of perception also makes him ideally suited to watch for infiltration by the Drow, the ancient enemy of the region. In times of conflict he would join the ranks of the Swords of Deepingdale, the local militia of able-bodied Dalesmen. When not on the streets to execute his duties, he lives at the local fortress-temple of Helm.

Re: OOC

Welcome Elinor and Sariel \o

Jarsali has been travelling for a few years now so could conceivably have adventured with anyone previously. Please feel free to pitch any ideas you might have for our past interactions.

Given Sariel and Jarsali's shared wood-elven heritage they may have come from the same area. This could be a source of comradery or friction. Jarsali would have generally been looked down on as a fatherless half blood bastard among the elves.

I see alignment as more of a starting guide but I see Jarsali as being Neutral Good at this stage, with some chaotic leanings. Because of this I can see her getting into less than legal shenanigans with Celeste and probably butting heads with Armat from time to time on how laws are to be interpreted by their spirit rather than their letter.

Jarsali enjoys friendly competition and sparring so I can see her spending some time sparring with any of you that would be into that kind of thing.

Based on Elinor's description Jarsali will likely try to act like a big sister, whether or not that is welcomed, as she has always been considered the youngest back home.

And, without planning it, the group is pretty much all female, with the exception of Armat being the rooster in the hen house so to speak.

This is a novel and lovely change of pace for a game on the site.

I have most of my sheet done. A few tweaks maybe. Also, is it ok to swap a tool proficiency if I get it from both my class and my background? For another tool or a language? Probably a language?

Going over some of your sheets, make sure you are using Ability Score "Generation: 16,15,14,13,12,11" arranged as you desire for your character stats. At least two of you are using different methods.

Our common Wood Elf heritage isn't likely to be a source of connection. I just updated my character description with some details. Sariel's life before three years ago is a mystery she has not shared with anyone yet. I will say that anyone who Sariel saw disparaging Jarsali with comments like 'fatherless half blood bastard' would be very likely to find a dagger lodged in the wall/seat an inch from their nethers with a warning that Sariel wouldn't miss the next time they decided to be a bigoted troll. If she didn't just out and out deck them.

At this stage in her life, Sariel is veeeery chaotic good. She has no respect for law as in 'her experience' law is too often bought, leaving the poor and misfortunate trampled underfoot of the wealthy. She'll actually probably respect Armat a lot but think him naive. Less than legal shenanigans are definitely negotiable.

Sariel would be up to sparring and friendly competition. She turns archery practice into a game for herself all the time. As for her style, up close she is a mobile skirmisher, always shifting and moving in combat. Her real specialty is the bow, however. Need that enemy cleric and wizard downed before we're even in range of their spells? Let me get my bow.

Sariel is also likely to take up a big sister role. She is the oldest member of our party, I think. She's the type to share her wisdom though, not try to force it on anyone. Share it, and then leave it for someone to either take or make their own choices and mistakes.

My sheet is all but done (need to add flaws, etc, which I’m working on now as well as a detailed history for the gm)

Needless to say, for a half orc she is rather small and slender (average build for a lithe female human) and could pass for human at a casual glance. Her appearance however is unusual in her clothing. She has leather armor that is pretty common, short sleeved, but after that her arms are wrapped in what looks like linen bandages all the way to her hands. None of you know if it’s on her body or not.

And her only obvious weapons are daggers.

Her alignment is more chaotic and though she is neutral, she tends towards good behaviour. Her attitude is one of a little reckless and impulsive
