A significant portion of the school was devoted to P.E. class. There is quarter mile track, a gymnasium where basketball or volleyball can be played as well as occasional dodgeball, wrestling or even line-dancing classes. There is also an olympic sized pool that is used to give swimming lessons, but is mostly used by the after-school swim team.

There are locker rooms separated by sex, each with showers. The two shower rooms are separated by a wall, one that has been patched over many times due to someone on one side of it taking it upon themselves to make a "secret" hole to peek over to the other side.

There are two gym teachers in the school handling the school's sophomore class, Mr. Mendoza and Mrs. Anderson-- they run two classes at the same time, the classes are not gender-segregated but by having both a man and a woman teacher ensures that there is someone supervising each locker room.

Donnie wandered into the locker room later than the rest of the students. Not because he was out socializing, but simply because he dragged his feet on getting here, hoping to come up with a brilliant plan to get out of the class. But ultimately he couldn't come up with one. He considered skipping the class, but it would be difficult to find a place to hide out on campus too.

So he begrudgingly made his way into the locker room and changed quickly. When he got to where other students were stretching or otherwise preparing for a run, he instead made his way to a bench and laid down flat atop it, letting his arms dangle over the sides about as lifeless as a discarded doll.

The Gym class teacher Mrs. Anderson walked out into the track, looking over the students who were preparing. Many of the students were stretching, which she smiled at. Others-- not so engaged. She took a place on the inner field by the starting line and then blew a whistle.

"All right, everyone!!" she called out, "Get to the starting position!"

As the various students started gathering, she called out in a commanding tone, softer than a drill instructor but nonetheless strict, "Same drill as everyday, people! Four laps around the track and note your time when you cross the finish line and write it by your name on the chart."

The chart was just a paper on a clipboard sitting on a nearby bench with an attached pen. It had the times from the previous days, meant to track the student's progress on being able to run a mile.

Having completed his stretches, Amon took his place at the starting line with the other students. This would be a good way to begin to prove himself as being at least as good, if not better, than everyone else, and wasn't that the point of competitive sports?

Courtney rolled her eyes at the people who clearly were not going to be ready for the exercise. Stretching was very important! Admittedly, they did far more extreme stretches these days than she was used to, but she could adapt. And they did seem to work.

She bounced up to the starting line, and grinned at the teacher. This was one class where she was a good student, and really enjoyed the lessons. Of course, she had no actual powers relating to running, so she was reliant entirely on her natural capacity. But she was in good shape, did a lot of exercise, and was confident she would improve her time each time she ran the course.

She doubted she would come in first. While she might be ignorant of most of the identities of her fellow students, she was pretty sure that the only way she could beat Kara was if the super girl deliberately let her win. But it was foolish to use a Kryptonian as a bench mark. So long as she beat everybody else, she would call that a win!

Donnie rolled to the side, flopping off the bench and landing squarely on his hands and knees on the ground. He lifted himself up to his and leaned his head back, yawning widely as he began to trudge towards the other students with the urgency of a slug.

He wiped whatever dirt had collected on his hands when he touched the ground off using his shorts. He positioned himself behind the other students and rocked lackadaisically upon his heels.
