Races in space

All the usual races are found in space somewhere ("usual" in this case means PHB and AA). Lizardmen are also common, using more "civilized" version from Mordenkainen's Monsters of the Multiverse.

That being said, Dragonborn are probably going to be extremely rare and likely just visiting, as their dragon types aren't common in space. An exception might be made for Gem Dragonborn, of course, who might find interest in githyanki teaching...or fighting Far Realm sorts.

Genasi and Fey

Genasi are elementals and tied, in origin, at least, to the Elemental planes. The Elemental Planes are tied to Planets, which are, when it comes down to it, large balls of one or another of the elements. Wildspace is devoid of elements. The Asral doesn't even give access to the elemental planes. Not much in the way of Elemental creatures will be found in Wildspace without a Summoning spell. This limits Genasi as well. Th elemental bloodline has to have come from somewhere, after all.

All of the above also applies to most Fey and the Feywild, of course. Most Fey creatures are predisposed to be  around plants and wilderness, which means planets, not the void.

This doesn't make Fey or Genasi impossible in space, just very, very rare, and likely not native.

Rock Hoppers

I'm bring Rock Hoppers forward from 2nd edition SJ as a name given to Stout Halflings that inhabit asteroid clusters.

They get around using Space Swine as riding animals and to tow chariots and light wagons. And for food, of course.

Each asteroid (depending on size) hosts one family farm, or one family farm on each side of the gravity plain (although it's presumed the two families get along in the later case). Each grouping of 'Hopper asteroids ("County") will generally have an asteroid devoted to trade with an Inn or Tavern, possibly a mayor and a few shops, and the like, plus plenty of 'swine stabling.

And, of course, nearby (within a day or two by 'swine) will generally be a human (or other, often Elf) asteroid city.
