Classes in Space

This is for specific class adjustments in Space. Mostly just common subclasses.

Barbarian

Not particularly common in space, and probably groundlings. Space tends to go the other way: more civilized.

Still as specific subclasses strike me as appropriate for space, if only for a specific race or two, I'll note it here

Bards

Nothing special, although Valor and Sword are likely common choices.

Clerics

The PHB gods found in space are listed in AA in a background:

Corellon (elves)
Tymora (good fortune)
Fharlanghn (roads)
Istus (Fate/destiny)
Nuada (War and Warriors)
Zivilyn (DL:Wisdom)
Arawn (Life and Death)
Hecate (Magic and Moon)
Celestian (Astral/Space)
Path (opener of the ways)

And, of course, where there are dwarves, there are Moradin clerics. Probably the only Forge Clerics in Space, as fires in air envelopes tend to burn up all the air. Besides, none of the Space gods are Forge types.

Note that Celestian and Ptah date back to the old edition, and are likely most common, while Hecate is actually a Moon god, and probably less common.

Druids

While Moon Circle shapeshifters can be found anywhere, the most likely Space Druid would be Star Circle.

Most of the others would be groundlings, exclusively, especially land druids (some tribes, such a Rock Hoppers, might have tribal druids of one sort or another)

Monk

Any are possible, of course, but Astral might well be particularly popular. Especially amongst Githyanki.

Paladin

Paladins are going to Paladin. Ancient Oath is unlikely, and Oath of the Watchers has particular appeal with things popping out of the Astral, but any are possible

Rangers

Any subclass particularly tied to the Feywild is unlikely and groundling. The same with the Underdark.

Like Paladins and Watchers, Horizon Walker might have a particular appeal for much the same reason.

Also note that Terrain for planets don't really translate to Space. Any Space ranger would have Deft Explorer (Tasha substitution), rather than Natural Explorer.

Warlock

I've covered this in the Old vs New, thread, but, mainly. Many patrons just won't be able to fuel spells in the Astral.

Feywild (ie: Fey)
Primordial (ie: Fathomless)
Elemental (ie: Genies)
Shadowfell (ie:: Hexblade, Undead)

Moreover, Undead patrons won't be able to fuel spells in other Solar Systems.

Fiendish, Celestial and Great Old One patrons are fine. They have Astral and/or Outer Plane presences.
