TEMP: FAQS

A few faqs that newer players usually asks me;

What happens if I die? - We need to address how players are revived in this game; In a game mechanic sense this is interpreted as: If you are doing a solo quest [only on solo quests], if you die, you will be allowed to revive if you so wish (A few have already died in this game). The guild will pick you up (Hence why the bag of holding is being tracked) and resurrect you. Keep in mind this only applies to SOLO. You get to keep your items and EXP on whatever you killed before death. There are penalties that will be incurred.

H Rank Cost:  250 Gold + -1 Rep (Not included REP lost on Quest Fail)
G Rank Cost:  500 Gold + -2 Rep (Not included REP lost on Quest Fail)
F Rank Cost: 1000 Gold + -4 Rep (Not included REP lost on Quest Fail)
E Rank Cost: 2000 Gold + -8 Rep (Not included REP lost on Quest Fail)

If you don't have enough gold, your balance goes to the negatives and you'll be in debt and you'll have to take a loan or in worse case a revival wont be possible and have to impose permanent death and your items will be given to the guild for liquidation.

In Party plays, you can be revived as well if a surviving party member or members be able to bring you back. If all party members die, then there will be a lesser chance that a revive will happen. Once a survivor brings the bodies back to the guild, costs and penalty (Follow table above) will be given to the party members who died. The one who survived will get no rep penalties.

Can I just roll my checks even if you didnt ask it? - When playing my game just roll Skill Checks on what you think or suspect is applicable in the situation. If its not appropriate ill just ignore the roll or if what you rolled was not specifically what I wanted then I'll message you here on here what to truly roll.

For combat in the future, When posting for 'To Hit' Attacks. Always roll for its damage as well (Unless you already figured out its AC after deducing it), whether its assumed it hits or not. Should an attack miss, even if you post the damage, I'll just ignore that damage. This ultimately lessens our back and forth in the PMs and quickly moves the scene forward.

So I'm a few days ahead of this player but I want to meet up with them, do I have to wait till they catch up? - You dont need to worry about other people's timelines when you are not trying to meet up with someone and focus on your own self. But the jist, there is no constant time in the main timeline since people finish their quest at different dates and intervals. So visualize that you are in your own time bubble and you only focus on you and yours world, dont mind other people's when their doing their own stuff since they are in their own time bubble. Its good to read up other peoples story but their story won't affect your bubble until it is time that it will.

Now if you wish to collaborate with another player/s (it would be good if you guys talk about it in PMs.), both your time bubbles will combine. However we dont need to compute or decide on what day or how long you two haven't seen each other when meeting up, just set a thread/location to meet and go collaborate, converse, spend time together, without mentioning the time. Try to prevent statements like; "Last Saturday I last saw you we ate dinner together." <- This statement would inadvertently desync both players since the other player for example might already done 4 weeks worth of downtime and it just confuses everyone. So when interacting with players, try to just avoid those mentions of specifying time that might confuse you, them and everyone else reading.

This solution is made for convenience so players don't wait real life days or forever to have their IC time-lines synced when they just want to meet up and do a quest/shop/converse together in the main timeline.

A few faqs in regrds to Downtime and Time Exampt;

What is the difference with Downtime and Time Exempt? - Downtime isn't Time Exempt so you can't do quests while doing downtime. Downtime and Quests are in the main timeline as well as Rank Up exams.

So Time Exempt is the future or past? - It could be both. To explain more about Time Exempt; The main purpose of Time Exempt Pub/Brothel is to establish contact with people and their characters. I do not interfere nor manage these threads since I let people just talk there and get to know each other. Since these threads have their own timeline, it wont keep your character busy stuck at rping small talks and establishing camaraderie. Those precious time lost from conversing with other players could have been used to train a skill, shop, explore the world or talk to npcs or go on a quest, rather than waste time doing small talks in the main timeline. This also prevents people from idling for a few days in RL while waiting for their small talk to finish.

Time is money, literally in this game. Thus to summarize; you can keep talking and conversing with other people in Time Exempt threads while you are in a quest yourself in the main timeline. You can even be in both threads at the same time since they have their own separate timeline. Everyone in the time exempt thread are in their own timezone whether it be in the last or future, just doing small talk.

What if I want to meet someone else in the past but not in the pub or brothel? - Good question, players can request an Exclusive time exempt thread from me. This is for when you wish to write a narrative talk with another player or NPC without having you lose time or progress in the main timeline and is not limited to just Brothel or Pub as the locations. So you can request for other locations to be time exempted when you want to RP it. Example of situations where players may want to time exempt; It can be a date with another player, wanting to RP the past history of a character, Wanting to converse with a Player/NPC about small talks, etc.

Keep in mind since Time Exempt is usually from the past or future, there won't be any exp earning, item earning in these 'flashbacks'. We are just trying to set a scene for you and another player/npc.

So If I want to go to the pub or brothel during my downtime, should I post in the time exempt thread? - You have to understand that the Time Exempt threads are separated from the main timeline so the [Brothel] and [Pub] locations will obviously also exits in the main timeline but you'll have to visit them in their corresponding downtime threads.

If you wish to eat or sleep in the Pub within the main time; All the locations that exists in the time exempt are also available in the main timeline. Brothel and pub is in [Downtime Adventurer Guild/Shop District] thread.
