Kenth's thread, Return to Derilyn, and beyond...

Kenth had finished both the verbal and written report covering the mission and the freighter which had managed to get away. Sallin hadn't been to tough on the group, only making a few suggestions, he was sure ISB and some of the other officers were holding the pilots completely accountable. Though he did question that for all the upgrades that the freighter appeared to have, why the Myrmidon was unable to run it down. The Myrmidon was a corvette after all and from what he knew of her specifications she should have been able too. But that was something he kept to himself.

Currently he was waiting to see if his request to LCDR Sallin would be agreed to or not. He was completely qualified to assist the techs in maintaining or upgrading any of the fighters, bombers or shuttles. He had already gotten the okay from the techs commanding officer now he was just waiting to see if the LCDR agreed.

*incoming message*

Don't take the last one too hard.  You didn't shoot straight, you didn't take them off their mark, you didn't boost your flight, you didn't penetrate their shields, and you didn't stop them from getting away.  But you made it home, and so did your team.  The Empire will catch up to those nerfherders.  And you succeeded at the first rule of TIE work - come home alive.  We'll get them next time.

And tech work, great idea.  Get on it, and let me know how it goes.

There's some laughter from the hallway, but otherwise, you've got to be feeling ok.  Tech bay? Shower?  Chow?  Sleep?  You've got a bit before you get to the Derilyn Station...

Kenth closed the message with a bit of a frown. That was a whole lot of didn't do's in that message. Even if the LCDR hadn't out right said it he still got the feeling he was saying don't crew up like that again.

Sighing he collected his thoughts. He heard the laughter from the hallway which could either be a good thing or bad thing. Either way he wasn't in a mood for much. Collecting his datapad he stepped out the door ready to head to the hangar bay and see if the techs were willing to let him help out.

Sure enough, there's Zinda...or probably Zinda, or at least the...stern transom of someone with Zinda's gait, stature, and haircut.  It was hardly awful, but ...it's your flight-mate, so, that's awkward at least.  At least the Marine enlisteds tighen up when they see you.  Further down the hallway, there's a low whistle, and a nervous chuckle...

Otherwise  the trip to the hangar is uneventful.

At first, the techs are a bit nervous, but when they see you're genuine, they loosten up.
