OOC

I, personally, use spices on my food, black pepper more often, red cayenne pepper for hotness,  and then a couple of others here and there, like basil, oregano, etc.

I don't use cumin very often at all, but would be interested in reading your article. Cristina likely would have no exposure to cumin, but she could learn something OOC from your article as well.

OOC

Game Master:
OOC: It feels like we're coming to the end of the investigation within the home so I thought I would bring all the characters together for this last bit and then you can decide how you wish to proceed.

Arya had guessed based on others' investigations that the butler's cousin made a copy of the key and whomever the intruder(s) was, whom Jens let in the gate, climbed in through the window and stole the figurine (unclear if they went out the same way or hid the thing within).  Arya is disinclined to go wandering around outside the grounds in her current state of attire.  She was only really willing to chase Jens as far as she did because his actions suggested more involvement than simply taking a bribe and he was the last direct inside link.  So at this point, I think she is inclined to wait it out while the others go check with the cousin.

Yep, that's a pretty spot on connection of the clues gathered to date :)

If it's attire holding you back then you can assume that the staff will fetch anything you need to feel more comfortable whether that's sending a runner for your gear from wherever you were staying or just buying you new stuff at Tchernivich's expense.

The attire is certainly a big part of it but time is also a factor at this point.  Arya does not want to hold the others up while she acquire appropriate clothing and with 2-3 people already going, it seems they would be better served by having her wait at the house and try to stall things if necessary.

Would it be okay if we pieced together the bits of the puzzle we have, OOC? I'm not 100% sure how Sislau would phrase everything or address everyone yet, or how they'd relate to him, really.

If we assume that we all get together again and discuss what the various witness said, Arya is happy to piece it all together and explain what happened.

I haven't played much 7th Sea 2.0 other than at the GenCon it was introduced, when there were 5-6 events with inexperienced GMs; but I don't imagine that clothing and other personal belongings are any much more at issue in 2.0 than in 1.0.

Cristina likely has 20-30 various changes of clothing in her gear somewhere, and she surely should be better dressed at the 3:00 PM event than she currently is. But time... and space... has always been rather vague in 7th Sea.

Arya? We really should all be together for the climax. :)

Well, sure, but I was asking if we could discuss something from the game OOC for a moment, not if you could solo it IC.

Re: OOC

Okay, so Sislau found a whole lot of cumin around the windowframe- almost (if I was reading it right) a suspicious amount. Not "that shouldn't be there" suspicious or "this indicates someone from the kitchens" suspicious, but more like "someone really wanted us to think that" amounts. (Again, if I'm reading it right.)

That was the big one. Sislau basically found a breadcrumb trail of the stuff.

Re: OOC

I didn't understand the reference to cumin. As I'd said, I personally know about cumin as a spice, but don't have any in my kitchen cupboard, or know what it smells or tastes like. So, why was it mentioned as a clue? Why was there at all?

Perhaps the person who'd left it was a cook or a spice merchant. It didn't seem to make sense that the person intentionally left the stuff on the window sill. So, it likely was just a clue to be followed up.

Re: OOC

Sounds like something that should be discussed IC unless there is some question as to the actual amount.

Re: OOC

Sure, but I’m not sure what exactly he wants to know. If Sislau thinks it strange, then bring it up with the others for their take on it.

As a player, I know that cumin is a spice used in food, that I associate with the Middle East and Indian subcontinent. I have no idea about its manufacture, harvesting, or production. I have no idea how much of it would reasonably fall off someone’s clothes. Arya probably knows nothing at all about cumin, as she knows basically nothing about food preparation, although she may know something about it if it’s particularly valuable and worth stealing.  I doubt she knows where it comes from or anything about its production.

However, she knows a great deal about robbing from rich people’s houses, as that is a major portion of her background. So she is happy to use her expertise to analyze the data that all of us have come up with from our various investigations and put together a narrative. If Sislau is not interested in that, that is fine. As a player, I have no particular need to be involved in every single scene.  Arya has already offered to stay back at the mansion while everyone else goes off and figures things out.

Re: OOC

Just for clarity on the whole cumin thing.

Basically there is enough of the powdery spice around the window that it will have come off someone who has worked closely with large quantities of it. The spice is unusual enough that there will be a handful of people in the city with that kind of exposure to the stuff that tracking them down is a possibility if you want to go down that avenue.
