For the things I missed first time around.

Belters and Ringers have one more required skill: Crewman(Spacer). 1 point is enough.

This is the skill of getting around on a ship with airlocks and what not. I'm going to assume Domes and Satellites se few of such. Well, probably the same about between sections, but they are so big that a single Habitat section is mostly a self contained village.

I missed it when going through the Basic Book, but I finally dug out the Space book to see what I may have missed. Apologies.

Folks, as it's come up with about half of you so far:

I don't use online sources, including the GCS. I use the Basic Book and others.

Also, while I used to have an extensive collection of Pyramid magazine, I suffered a data failure on my backup drive last summer, and lost ... everything. I have only replaced a few issues of Pyramid.

This is mostly a problem because the GCS doesn't seem to have the allowed Required Specializations programmed in. I can fix that when I see the characters (after I figure out what you actually wanted), but it's been an issue for both of the characters I've seen so far.  So you know to expect some corrections that might seem a bit picky to you. These skills were not meant to be anywhere near as broad as the GCS seems to present them.

If you have the basic Book, check your skills. It's worth the read. It's also how you find out that some of your desired skills are cinematic, and, hence, not allowed.

First an apology, folks, if it seems I'm being a hard ass on skills. Yes, in some cases some of the skills you wouldn't have. Not realistic for a high school kid to be a ship's weapons expert, for instance.

But, mostly, it's because you folks are using the GCS in large part, and I'm using the book with descriptions of the skills. I'm trying to find out WHY you want a skill so I can direct you to the right one. That's why I ask for an explanation for most of them, instead of just disallowing them outright (although in a couple cases I've done that as well, mostly for combat skills that wouldn't make sense even WITH an explanation).

Now, to be fair, I may well be wrong on some of them. That's fine as long as I'm wrong consistently and you know about it ahead of time. Which is where we're at.

So please, bear with me. I'm just trying to get you a character that can do what you think it can.

If you have a language besides English, I've created a group for it.

I've also created private groups for your assorted places of origin. This is NOT for player use. it is simply a way for me to pass along common knowledge one origin would have that others wouldn't.

I post updates (assuming it's time for an update) Monday-Wednesday-Friday (Tuesday-Friday when we have a holiday Monday in the US). Combat will be daily Monday through Friday. I generally update around Noon my time (Pacific US)

Weekends are for family. That being said, I'm generally around to answer question and make IC responses.

As GM, I have to adjudicate what happens when yyou do a thing, and let you know what happened.

I will take what you post at face value and not read into it (at least I hope so). If I'm unsure what you mean, I'll double check with you OOC. Please give me the same courtesy.

For example, if I say you've failed to access a restricted site online, that doesn't mean I'm saying you tried to hack it. It simply means the site was restricted, and you didn't have access. The take away here is that the site requires a password or some other indication that you're allowed into it. That's all.
