12:07, Today: Lethal Lil rolled 93 using 1d100 with rolls of 93.  Regroup and fight some men.
This was perhaps where Lil met her end as she swung her scimitar in pain against some of the men.
-10 for fighting multiple opponents with her scimitar brings it to 83.
Hopefully they have a penalty from being blinded.

Lil tries to fight, but takes a punch to the head. It's a glancing blow, because of Cassandra's spell, but it sends her reeling.

Dh'Gath and Cassandra try to come to her rescue-- and indeed, they fell two opponents-- but Lil is still in bad shape.

(I'm going to impose a +20 penalty for Lil's next roll. It will ease 5 points per round (so, next round, 20). Maybe you should retreat to the doorway you came in by, Lil, for now?)

Lil staggers away crawling if need be.

Cassandra does some excellent sword work. Two men go down, bleeding-- the rest back away, monentarily routed, falling back a little to regroup--

Cassandra, confident that her friend could take care of herself, went back into the fight.  She usually tried to rely on magic, since learning how to read spells a few years ago, but kept up with her sword work.  If felt good to play again as the swashbuckler she was.
She danced around the men, looking for openings for her sword.  She swashed.  She buckled.  She had a ball.

Nice. Spells can go awry, but steel is solid-- and these men don't have any-- a couple (who're still standing, that is) have wooden clubs. One is spiky, but they're wooden spikes.

These men certainly could be said to have a sort of primal agility (some of them more than others), but they don't have the true grace that Cassandra displays. This time she more than drives them back-- she makes them afraid of her. They're not just backing up-- they're retreating.

All but one, the big guy, the leader... He stands his ground, waiting, watching... for an opportunity or opening, it feels like, maybe...? Cassandra's moves bring her closer to him... Not quite within sword's reach yet...

Making sure she's on balance and ready for action, Cassandra moves in to attack the leader.  She worked to strike smartly and quickly, being sure not to underestimate the big man

Cassandra gets a good hit in on the man's arm-- it starts really bleeding.

The man roars, and grabs a club from someone else, and starts circling around Cassandra...

The other snake cultists back up. It's clear that they see this as a duel, for now-- whichever combatant wins will win this whole encounter, as far as they're concerned (unless the cult leader and Cassandra kill each other, then anything goes, probably)...

Smiling eagerly, looking more like a feral cat than a scholar, Cassandra tried to take advantage of the big man's momentary distraction

Lil watched on quite impressed with her friend and tried to pray for the seamistress healing while she watched from the side lines.

(I think I only have 1 hit point at the moment from what I remember.

Cassandra lunges forward, slicing up. The big man blocked her blade, but she's able to twist her swird and clonk him on the head with her hilt

The big man reels backward and lurches a few steps to his left a bit (Cassandra's right)...

With a spin that looked more like a dance move than a serious strike, Cassandra swung the sword across the big man's throat

--Roll 5 or less, and what you're doing goes extra well, AND your stat goes up 10 points (until the next time it goes down again!) AND IN FACT ALSO that thing you just did becomes a specialty of yours-- always subtract 5 from your roll from now on when you do that thing! (Roll 5 or lower again for the same thing, and yes, eventually this bonus can stack, up to a max of lowering your roll result by 15.)

Cassandra gets a new specialty: DUELLING! When Cassandra is rolling a one-on-one combat roll in a fight everyone else is purposefully staying out of (but witnessing), she gets an extra -5 subtracted from the those rolls!
