The Solar System

I'm going to start you folks off with just the basics of information, and let you discover geopolitics and etc as you go.

In Theory, of course, this is everyone's home system, but that doesn't mean you're experts on the system, yet. Certainly not on the planets.

Still this thread can be considered common knowledge to start, and will be updated as more is learned.

Temperatures in Space vary,, but only mildly.

Around Mercury's orbit it can be quite hot, about the same as a desert.

Out to Venus, it's subtropical.

Beyond Venus to about Saturn, it's temperate.

Beyond Saturn to the Astral event horizon it's subtemperate, but rarely, if ever, freezing.

Asteroid Belt

Planet:
Ceres: A Size B, Dimly lit farming planet.
Supplies limited to some wood and most of the food in local Wildspace.
Good for minor repairs and major air, food, and water resupplies.

Bases:
Barney's Rock: A large asteroid base about 120 degrees around the orbit from Ceres. It hosts a small city with lake on one side, and a farming community on the other. Self supporting with limited exports. Useful for minor to moderate repairs and restocks.
