This is going to be a fairly open ended semi sandbox (at least to start) game.

The characters will start with some experience and with their subclasses set, starting at 3rd level.

I'll determine starting situation based on the character mix. It could be anything from crash landing on an asteroid and needing to put together a raft that can handle a Helm to being hired to run deliveries for someone.

You'll have a cheap ship (or ship like object) and a Helm, but possibly not much else that isn't in your packs. You may not have packs.

All that remains to be seen, but should be temporary. After all, you'll need goals.

As time passes and things happen, there may be less of a sand box feel and more of a  mission driven feel to the game. That depends on the characters.

Also, the setting will be a system I've been working on myself, based on the Solar System, so translating Known Space between editions can wait a bit.
