  Captain William Buckley commands his ship the way a concert violinist plays their instrument, having already guessed the enemy tactics.  The gap between their larger ship and the three smaller ones was meant for him, so they could fire on both sides of the Boudica at once.  Captain Buckley was never going to allow the pirates to double-line him but he let them think he would, right up until the last moment.
  "Hard to port!"  The captain commanded and the ship heeled over like she was going to ram the middle of the three Xebec's.  The enemy Flute captain was caught flat footed as his target suddenly veered away and headed toward the Xebec's.  The Xebec captains panicked at the sight of three deck, ship-of-the-line bearing down on them.  One captain choose to turn to port, the other two went to starboard.  Captain Buckley called out to his lieutenants who passed on the orders to the gun captains,
  "Fire as she bears!" And the HMS Boudica opened fire with a full broadside at a single enemy Xebec, armed with only six guns and only half of them aimed at Boudica.

  OK guys all three of you can fire a volley with your starboard guns.  Just Improved Accuracy, no Selective Targeting this round.  So make your rolls to hit, if you score any hits then roll the damage type table for your deck.  Upper Deck is 12 lb, Mid Deck is 24 lb, Lower Deck is 32lb, and then roll the damage for your hits.  Any questions PM me :)

Hamilton calls sharply, "Run out the starboard battery!" He watches as his men throw themselves against the tackle falls, and in a squealing, protesting line the guns trundled up the slight slope of the deck and out through the open ports.

"Fire as you bear!" Hamilton relays the Captain's call to his crew on the Top Gun Deck. One by one the guns fire in a savage roar, lurching back on their tackles and sending their 12lb balls of shot at the enemy Xebec. Through the din of shouts and groaning spars, Hamilton heard some of the balls strike home, but not as many as he had hoped.

"Sponge out and reload! Lively, lads!"

The Xebec takes a full broadside and appears to stagger as if dealt a body blow. Boudica's cannons rip through her hull. Hamilton can hear the crash of falling spars and sliding thunder of overturned cannons. What remains of the Xebec is hidden in the billowing clouds of smoke.

From what he was able to see through the gunport the broadside Delta a good blow to the xboat, prompting a momentary pleasing smile from James.

Tom nods as he sees the cannons fire, prompting his own men to fire. However, their shots whiff upon the debris.

  At point blank range it was difficult for both sides to miss and the little Xebec did manage to hit the HMS Boudica twice before all three of it's guns were dismounted by the Boudica's first salvo.  The damage inflicted to hull (3 points) and rigging (3 points) was more of an annoyance to the crew of the Boudica than anything else but the Xebec was rendered effectively inoperable after it received the first volley.  Almost half of it's hull was destroyed, smashed, broken, splintered or pulverized and a quarter of it's rigging was ripped apart but more importantly two thirds of the crew were dead or wounded and all three guns on the starboard side were out of commission.
  "Reload!"  The command is roared across all three decks.
  The HMS Boudica sailed on.  Veering hard to portside now, she came around to pursue the lead Xebec that was racing west.  The second Xebec had broken off and was sailing north west.
  "Give the men some firing practice!"  Captain Buckley ordered his Lieutenant's.  "Give that one a send off!"  The captain pointed toward the fleeing Xebec, even as he ordered the helmsman to run down the third Xebec ahead of them.

  On the Main Deck an over eager Thomas Fulton had ordered his division to take aim when he was over-ruled.
  "Belay that order."  Marine Lieutenant Turtledove said to Thomas' Division.  "You will get your chance Mister Fulton.  I believe the Captain means to board that third ship."  Turtledove nods toward the Xebec they are closing in on ahead.

  Main Game Mao has been updated, most ships are heading west.
  If Thomas is firing for himself or his men in most cases he would use the Musketry Rifles skill.
  Thomas won't get a chance to fire for his men until next round.
  James can fire another volley from the Starboard guns however this round he is it -30% to hit, range modifier.
  I will let James fire all the cannons this round, if other players want to take control of some guns, PM me and we will set that up.
  I have updated all the ship stats in the original post of this thread.

The gun crews manning the starboard cannons quickly swab out the barrels, set the next charge and load the shot.

"Run out! Fire when ready!"

The second broadside isn't as well timed as the first, but the continuous barrage of cannon fire is almost as deafening. Unfortunately at this range, the cannons aren't nearly as accurate and many of the shots fall short of their mark. Only a handful manage to strike the target and the damage appears minor.

  "Man the port side guns!"  Captain Buckly commands as he brings his vessel up alongside the third pirate xebec.  "Give her a broadside!"
  The captain turns to the young cadet with the marines.
  "Mister Fulton, give her a volley and board that vessel."
  "Master Blake!"  The captain addresses the ships' Master.  "Send a division of your landsmen to support the marines."

  Master Blake waves to a group of the newer men, including several large Irishmen, James McLeod and Henry Stone among them.
  "Get your grapples ready!"  One of the master's mates yells at the landsmen as they are propelled toward the sides of the ship.

  "Ensign Hyde, you can go with the boarding party in case any of our men or enemy officers need treatment!"  The Ship's Surgeon orders his assistant.

  The press gang landsmen and sailors can roll to hit for their grapples.

Responding to call to heft Grappling hooks James grabs the nearest one and crouches besides a marine. When the order to Grapple away comes he hefts the steel over the side of the Boudicia, it arcs its way across the space tweenies both ships and lands true. James slips the ropes free end slipping through a pair of four block pulleys; then sets to taking up the slack.

  The canon fire from the top and middle decks of the HMS Boudica was not huge however the 32 pounders of the lower deck had a significant impact on the Barbary Coast pirate ship.  By the time the smoke cleared from the volley of fire a third of the Xebec's rigging was torn away or shredded and the hull had suffered more than 50% damage.  The real impact though, was among the crew.  The small vessel had lost as many men as it took to crew their ship, how they could continue the fight seemed a mystery until more men began appearing on deck.  These Barbary Pirates made up for in numbers what they lacked in skill.

  I will give Fulton a couple days to fire for his marines then I will have to NPC him to keep the game going.
