The Guild Quartermaster

"I have the perfect bag for you..."

He pulls out perhaps the ugliest workman's bag you have ever seen...It is stained with dirt, oily substances and what looks like crusty mud or dried crap...
"It is a handy haversack, but repulses thieves by looking like a cheap workman's bag...not one that anyone would expect to find any valuables in...

The Guild Quartermaster

He'd been waiting, he was good at waiting, you need to do a long if that in the rocky wastelands and deserts.

When the last he had seen, exits the Quartermasters quarters, the Elf of contradictions enters.

Bowing deeply to the Quartermaster with a flushing of his arm, in greeting, Grauwker The Wanderer moves closer, looks around and asks quietly. As he speaks, his sentences are punctuated with difinitives rather than a normal flow, maybe from protectingvthe throat in garsh weather!

"I protect myself from damage with my Armour spell. I fight with my Tribal Longbo and Tribdl Longsword. I gain protection from the elements from my feathered cloak. I louds in my silks. My Travel Spellbook holds the spells of my people, my land and the common ones. My bag holds all I'd need including my well-used waterskin." which is double sized for the deserts. "What could you do for me? Greater Protection. Greater functionality. Enhancements?"

It had been clear that the very tall Elf travelled light, common as part of the tribe, but he now was a Tribe of One, sn Outcast. A Loner than had vote to be a part of Something, of People.

The quartermaster also provides a ring to igor for storing 3 levels of arcane spells...

"You will owe the guild 7 thousand gold, you may return the items later on and owe nothing."

"The only person who will see the value of the bag is yourself, and one you designate to inheiret the bag should you die.  If you are cornered by enemies, and turn to face the corner, the bag will provide you with sanctuary for up to a turn..."

Alchemy Jug?

Spoiler text: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)

This magical device can pour forth various liquids upon command. The
quantity of each liquid is dependent upon the liquid itself. The jug can pour only one kind of liquid on any given day. The liquids pourable and quantity per pouring are:
Salt water 16 gallons
Fresh water 8 gallons
Beer 4 gallons
Vinegar 2 gallons
Wine 1 gallon
Ammonia 1 quart
lamp Oil 1 quart
Holy water 1 flask
The jug will pour forth two gallons per round, so it will require eight rounds to
complete a pouring of salt water.

Re: The Guild Quartermaster

"I have heard of tents that fold small and protect those inside, being larger than that seen outside, however, anyone with an extradimentional space item would have it disrupted.  Bracers of defence which are better than my spell or Bracers of Archery, maybe a ring to resist against magical affects from the Defilers or Templar's?

A bag that gives sustenance, food and drink?

I like the idea of living longer."

He seemed vague as those he had never had someone helpful approach him before.  He'd been a loner and now tries to 'fit in', he wasn't doing a good job of it.

"I believe that we can get a tiny hut of the sort you are referring to, and bracers for armor, an everful waterskin, I will have to double check, but I believe the hut has a cauldron of cooked grains, suitable to most men and mounts, though not royal cuisine...A vest rather than a ring might be easier to locate."

In reply to Quarter Master (msg # 35):

In awe of the ease at which items of such immense value were available, he smiled inwardly and nodded outwardly. "This is most agreeable. My thanks. My feels are. As you may imagine. For a safe group. I haven't had companions for too long".  It was longer than most could imagine, or at least that he could.

Retrieving the items, Grauwker The Wanderer bows deeply once more and retreats backwards towards the door 3 paces before turning around and exits the Quartermaster's quarters. He then goes to the training area.

Unmar reenters the guild's quartermasters space with a chagrinned look.  He walks to the table where he was earlier and addressed the man before him.  "Quartermaster."  he says, gaining the attention of the man.  "It has been--  I have seen-- experienced the grounds and been found wanting.  I failed to complete the task given, but I am stymied as to what was expected of me.  I was falling from a very great height.  My demise was certain, yet..."

Unmar shakes his head, still perplexed by this puzzle.  Finally, he looks up at the quartermaster.  "Would you have something that would either, prevent my injury from such a great fall, or somehow give me the ability to change the situation?"

Unmar lays the old mace on the table. "And if it is not too much, this mace has seen better days.  A replacement would be welcome."

Re: The Guild Quartermaster

"Ah yes, I see, there is some standard issue items that are still being sized and sourced for the group.  We intended to send them to your rooms a bit later on. The adventurers guild cloak is a safeguard from falls as long as the billows are allowed to fill, they must be refolded carefully to function again.  There is also a belt that I know one of you has received, a pole positioning belt it is called.  I have both of your items ready...."

He gives you a belt and a cloak...the sign of the smoking eye is part of the design.

He also gives you an exceptional mace +1/+1

Re: The Guild Quartermaster

Walking into the Guild Quartermaster's rooms, the Athasian sees Unmar listening. He nods to him and the Quartermaster, staying a respectful distance away so they can complete their dealings privately.

When they have finished, the Ranger moves forward and asks "Sire, Mr Quartermaster, I have a requests for you to ponder. My weapons are my own, crafted by myself and my tribe, that I have trained and practiced with everyday since puberty.  To enhance, would you have something like a sight for my bow, maybe gloves or a bracer that would enhance my accuracy?"

He had seen sights on bows, but wasn't sure what they did or how they worked but he was used to practicing.

"Also, some ointment for my blade to keep it's strength, it is an exceptional blade made from the bones of the Inixs, a very strong beast that we use for carrying goods or people."  Metal being rare, his Tribe and the rest of Athas had been employing strong bones for weaponry; those few make exceptionally well, having the same and better abilities that a metal weapon.

In reply to Quarter Master (msg # 49):

Visiting the Quartermaster just before muster, Grauwker The Wanderer asks "Sire, thank you for the work on my Tribal Weapons, would you be able to do something with my Tribal Cloak of feathers whilst we are away? And over the next, however long it takes. My new tribe is the Guild, yet if we go back to Athas, I'd like to wear it again, you could add Guild things and signs to it.  I will leave it up to you.

Thank you."
He left his beloved Cloak of Tribal Feathers with the Quartermaster and returned to his room to collect what he felt he needed for the 'outing', rations, waterskin, pack, weapons etc.
