What you need to know:
Essentially we are using SWADE rules but running original Deadlands. The world is still unaware of what is going on. You are fresh characters finding out what is happening and so far most of the things in the book have not happened yet.

1863: Reports start coming in about strange occurrences in the western territories of the US. Most importantly, the Battle of Gettysburg ends in a stalemate, with rumors circulating that the dead soldiers were rising and attacking anyone nearby, causing both armies to flee the chaos. Because the decisive victory for the Union never happened, the Civil War was allowed to continue.

1868: The Great Quake devastates the western coast of North America. In addition to killing a great deal of people, this event unearths a new mineral that becomes commonly known as "Ghost Rock", due to its tendency to emit a sound similar to a ghost's wail when burned. Ghost Rock's unique properties are put to great use in scientific and technological development, especially for the war effort.

1876-1878: Deadlands Classic

1881: Deadlands Reloaded - A couple of events separate the Deadlands Classic from Deadlands Reloaded. Namely, the end of the Great Rail Wars (or at least the end of the race to the west coast that the Rail Wars were originally based on) and the temporary ceasefire in the Civil War.

Character Creation Rules:

Heroes will be created using the basic rules. Rules are pretty much open to what the character wants to play. Remember two specific things, the date and timeline. Don't play a character who essentially has not done something that has advanced the time line. Stay true to the timeline.

Regular characters are fine.

Guts is skill in this game.

Game Rated:
Mature - Subjects including racism, sexism, rape, murder, death will be included in this game but only lightly touched upon. No graphic details or words should be used when in doubt $#% them out as not to offend the Marshall.

Game theme:
Game will be more Cthulhu like rather than typical Savage Worlds. So expect combat to be deadly, things to scare you and more horror related themes. While heroes are larger than life they are just people, remember that partner.
