What has gone before

This game is being run in memory of the original DM Vitkyng who passed away. The original game was run on RPGAddicts and ported here.

Our journey begins on the deck of an eel ship named  the Artatien, captained by an elven woman named Nelolwe, that was bound for the Rock of Bral from somewhere else inside of Bralspace. The ship was attacked and our story follows those that escaped in a specific life boat. These survivors are the human male cleric Olaf Svenson, the human female, who's afflicted with dwarfism, articifer Runa Espers, the human male ardent Zam, the human male monk Seris Black, the male lizard folk Ssitliak, the human wizard Wix Stonewise, the female  Kalashtar Psion (Shaper) Ghinatorral Ourabestos and the human factotum Talyn. Soon into their trip, the ship was attacked by a pair of fiery eagles which attacked the ship in quick order, but those above escaped with three of the elven crewmen, named Elion Celasaer, Bordal Siluthiel, and Armin Dorandor. Other lifeboats were launched, but it is unknown who survived, other than the captain and her officers who where killed by the eagles. The ship quickly disappeared into wildspace, but it most assuredly was destroyed.

The survivors all begin to assess their plight and they resources as the walnut shaped life raft floats in the void. Hope for rescue waxes and wanes as they set up watches to keep an eye out for any sign of help. Within the first day a solo scavver is killed and butchered to bolster their supplies. A few days pass and the party crosses a sargasso, also known as a dead magic zone. While in the sargasso, the party is set upon by a swarm of space worms. They are dealt with rather quickly and the party leaves the dead magic zone within a handful of hours. Shortly after getting free, there is a disagreement between Olaf and Gina, what Ghinatorral Ourabestos says to call her, about using weapons. Apparently the close quarters are starting to cause drama within the lifeboat.

Three more days pass without incident, but then a large mass of vegetation is seen moving towards them. On the infinity vines, a mass of vine that grows quickly to envelop whatever it is on, is the catfolk ranger Four Bells who joins the party after he was also set adrift. The catfolk at first hides from the party, but then decides he doesn't wish to be alone. After some work, the lifeboat and mass become one, they avoid the vines from enveloping the lifeboat, and the party's food and air situation are fixed. With that problem fixed, the survivors rest for a few more days, and encounter feesu that they drive off, before they see an asteroid. As they get closer, they realize that there are structures made by sentient hands on the surface, but there does appear to be some damage to them as one has fallen over. A debate ensues, but eventually they all decide to crash land into it.

During the fall, everyone gets banged up, but see fine, but another problem asserts itself, a pack of Astrovargs. Space wolves are known to be used by other creatures for vermin control, but it is feared they are feral. A female dev named Deb calls to the party to a hatch she has found. A quick run and climb finds the party within what is determined to be an abandoned dwarven citadel. They explore the interior, finding a fair amount of mundane equipment as well as a treasure room. Four Bells sneaks off and thus causes the astrovargs to find them, but the wolves don't attack. Instead they have been forced to move into the interior to escape the infinity vines. It is assumed that it was attacked as a single orc ghoul was found within a locked room. Some more exploration finds that the mines the dwarves used have  been closed off but a complicated locking system holds the potential for them to open. The vargs are interested in the mines as there seems to be a a healthy rat population that could feed the pack, but the party doesn't figure it out.

Continuing to search they find a section that used to be the dwarves' school house, but something terrible has happened as there are old dried up bones and blood on the walls. They are set upon by a trio of dwaven ghouls that are defeated, but it was a hard fight and the party moved to retire and rest up. Half a day into their rest, the vargs begin to get agitated as something is coming.

The party, with the help of a handful of Astrovargs took down the dwarven ghast and eventually found a way, through the books found in the school room area, how to reopen the mine and ensure that the varg community would have enough to eat for a very long time. That finished, they completed searching the old citadel and found out that it had been attacked by a squad of ships held by the orc hordes. One hammership had been found with a large hole blown out of it and a galleon that had somehow escaped the chaos. In the captain's room, a dwaven skeleton with an orcish ax buried in its chest, was found and a log book that detailed the situation. They had locked the children up with their teachers in the hopes that the orcs could be repelled.

Now with a ship, the party decided to leave the rock behind with the few supplies they could scrounge up. Now with a ship that could be powered and a jammeralbe, they were able to plot a course to Bral and end their ordeal.

What has gone before

This history of the universe is swathed in mystery and wrapped in inconsistencies. What can be known has been lost before anyone really knew what to ask or even that there was a question in the first place. The site below has tried to put things together in a reasonable sense, but it all could be lies or misconceptions.

Peruse at your own risk.
