Torlek kept his eyes on the creature but answered the new arrival...."well let's see...that elf tried to open the cage and those people are running round screaming which is only making matters worse and giving that monster something to want to attack....I'm attempting to hod it in the cage and these two are attempting to aid me ...please help yourself to joining in if you wish.." all said through gritted teeth while he focused on his spell

OOC: Mina if you want to try to hold the creature back with your spear locking it in the cage roll agility to try to use the spear in a way where it stops the creature from escaping.

Anyone trying to use food make sure to make a social roll against the creature.

Skyfro circles around the stage, putting himself in position to grab the barker if he tries to run away and also to keep an eye on the area to see if the elf returns.

As the Wyvern is trying it's hardest to fight the magic and being as dangerous as possible. Mina is able to take her spear and jam it into the cage blocking the Wyvern from escaping by reinforcing the cage. The create tries to strike at her when she gets close but she is able to nimbly dodge the attack and move out of the way before the creature gives up. The small creature hisses and gives a rather than fighting anymore.

The man comes up to Mina and says, "Thank you, thank you. All of you for helping. This could've been worse than I would've imaged."

The man signals some of the people with him to make sure that people stay away from the beast.

Mina quietly stares at the man for a moment and then says to him plainly, "I want my spear back." She stands there looking at him intently.

The man looks at Mina with a bit of a concern. "I am not sure how I can do that. You see the spear is holding the cage. If I remove it then the creature might come out. But I tell you what, I can surely give you some coin for it. Let's say 5 gold piece?"

In reply to Zyphus (msg # 41):

"And what is your plan for the creature now that it seems you cannot safely move it?"

The man looks at you, "Simple friend. We will drug the creature back to sleep and then safely move it away from the crowds."

The man grabs a piece of food out of his pocket and tosses it to the creature. "This should help but it's going to take a little while for the effect to start working."

The Wyvern eats the food without hesitation still not getting up and staying at it's currently spot.

They're keeping it starved so that they can drug it. No wonder it's so aggressive.

Skyfro's face settles into a frown as he considers.

As more people flood in from the festival you see that in the crowd the elf that unlocked the cage is watching to see what happens. When he notices that you are looking around he turns away from you and starts walking into the crowd itself trying to blend in.

All around you people laugh and cheer while you remain by the stage with the man and Wyvern. It appears at least that in a little while this creature will be a asleep. Meanwhile further in the town you can hear all sorts of sounds and smells on the other side.

The little gnome notices the elf and cercomvents the crowd to get close enoigh to the elf to call out to him

"Excuse me master elf...I mean you no harm and wish only to ask why you felt you needed to release the creature." He moved closer as relaxed as he could "I have no love of putting a creature in a cage or taking it from its mother to make money from it, I just wanted to find out why you felt the need to release it if I know I might be inclined to help in some way"

Mina continues to stare at the man intently for several moments before she replies, "Seven gold pieces." She holds out her palm towards the man while she continues to stare him down.

The man throws up his hands in defensive position. "Alright! You strike a hard bargain. Agreed." He grabs the extra coin out of his pocket and gives it to you.

Meanwhile as Torlek comes close to the elf who obviously was the one who tried to release the Wyvern, you see panic on his face. He looks like he is going into fight or flight stance. He hears you out while also trying to conceal what little of his face you can see.

"That man is a monster. He prays on these creatures and then presents them to people for money like they are typical beasts. That creature is dangerous. I do not regret my decision. People have to know he is putting them in danger."

"I don't disagree with your view but I do with the way you went about it...innocent people, children could have been hurt because of your actions"

Torlek stopped and looked at the elf "if you want to let the creature go then at least choose your moment....maybe on the road but not in a town....anyway what do you intend doing next? I only ask so I can avoid the area" he added with a slight smile

The man smiles back at Torlek,"I am sorry for my actions. I don't have any other impulsive actions as long as their aren't any animals in need."

You notice the man himself has markings going up and down his arms likely some kind of heritage the elf has.

"I must take leave. See you around." the elf says before walking in the other direction of the crowd.

Mina quietly nods and accepts the seven gold coins in exchange for her spear. She takes a few steps back away from the man and then scrutinizes the gold coins, one-by-one, to verify they are all genuine. Once she's satisfied they are actually gold, she puts the coins into her small coin purse and turns away.

She leaves and goes about the festival and town to look for a weapon smith to replace her spear.

Skyfro fades back from the stage and moves to the edge of the crowd. He watches the barker and keeps an eye out on the rest of the crowd to make sure all is truly calm and safe.

As you move through the festival you are guided from booth to booth. Tons of people are at the festival and all seem to be having a great time enjoying the music and fun. Most of the workers are still preparing for the Swallowtail festival to happen which isn't until tomorrow. Still you decide to walk around taking a look at the vendors.

OOC: At this point you have a few things that can happen. You can obviously do what you wish but you have a few choices:
-Roll on a random event table to find out what interesting things happens to you
.-Go somewhere in the town (Blacksmith, Inn, etc.).
-Wait out until the next day when the festival is in full swing.

Each one of you can decide. What would you like to do?

Skyfro quietly watches the cage and barker to make sure the creature isn't further mistreated. Once it's away from the crowd, he moves about the town getting the lay of the land and keeping an eye out for more opportunities to be helpful.

Mina you find a blacksmith a new spear is on 2gp. Assuming you don't want anything else?

Skyfro While you are moving around the city the following happens:
The hero develops a strong and lasting friendship with someone at the festival. Who is it and how did they bond?

Everyone after this is complete the real game starts burn 5 sp to spend the night at the Inn. We will also close out the interlude.

Once Mina locates a seller of spears, she takes a look through their offerings. She carefully goes through the available selection, looking each one over until she finds one she likes the feel of. She tests it out with a few thrusts and swings as space allows. Once satisfied, she says, "This one." and pays the smith their asking price of two pieces of gold.

She secures the spear onto her back and goes about the festival for a short while longer before seeking out an inn to stay the night.

Skyfro saw a group of young adults harassing a local halfling, Jurrigan, who has a gnarled gimpy leg and a rumor of bing a Jinx. He scared off the ruffians without any explicit threat of violence. Jerrigan, happy for the assistance, overlooked Skyfro's outsider status and took him into his home for a meal and they got along like old friends.

It had been an eventful day and Torlek was tired especially after using his magic.

He gratefully paid the price and collapsed on the bed in his rented room forcthe night

Gerard, feeling that the situation has resolved to normal festival oddness, turned back to the dwarf and his chicken. After some banter, Gerard purchased another piece and resumed walking the festival. While he mainly stayed to the stalls and vendors, he did peek in at the areas that were still preparing for the festival proper.
