Aldren looks at Mina with wide eyes and bows before the lady while the others are speaking the guards. He introduces himself, "Aldren Foxglove at your services ma lady. You are quiet the warrior." he says as you dig in the goblin leaders pockets. Mina turns two potions that look of a strange stubstance.

"Ah potions of healing ma lady! I could notice that reddish glow from anywhere. Your skills in combat are only surpassed by your beauty. I will be at the Rusty Dragon for the next few days but I plan to leave soon. If you find me, I'd like to reward you when I am more prepared." he says to Mina.

Meanwhile the guards lower their weapons allowing Skyfro and other to talk to goblins. The goblin turns and squirms on the ground seemingly trying to escape and look for others of his kind but most are dead. He looks up at Skyfro with a fear in his eyes.

"Stupid humanses. One of you longshanks hired us. We not know. We not leader. I not see stupid humanses."

Skyfro increases the growl in his voice. "You not leader. You are weak. I would test my strength against your leader! Who is he and where would I find him?"

Mina’s eyes dart toward the fancy-pants Human and narrow as he first approaches--and then addresses--her. As he stops to bow, she produces two potion vials from the clothing of the Goblin boss and spares a moment to look them over. A pair of healing potions, she notes. She had hoped for some coin, but these will do.

As she tucks away the two potions into her clothing, she looks back up at the man. Being an apparent nobleman, perhaps he does have connections and other resources, so it's good to know he feels indebted. From his praise though, she's suspicious of this 'reward' he mentions since he implies she should seek him out in his inn and it seems directed only at her despite there being others nearby who aided him as well.

She replies with a friendly expression and tone, "Good to know." She stands up and says, "I have matters to attend to. Well, good day to you." She gives him a friendly nod and walks over to the where the Gnome caster is.

She says to Torlek, "Are you in need of healing, little Windcaster? It looked as if you were struck a strong blow in the battle."

The little goblin lifts his hands in fear of Skyfro.

"I not know! All me know is human went to grave yard. Goblins kill humans. We need no reason."

The guards on the slide look unimpressed by the goblin's memory.

"You not know your leader? You are weaker than I thought. Do you at least know where you live?"

This thing is confused with fear. At least he's given something to follow up on.

Torlek smiled an Mina but shook his head " I believe our new companion the man of the cloth cast his ability on me I feel a lot better" he stood and with Mina listened to the Interrogation of the goblins

After Torlek mentions being healed by a man of the cloth, Mina cannot stop herself from glancing over at the newcomer. She doesn't fail to notice the obvious holy symbol worn around his neck. She stares at it briefly and narrows her eyes before suddenly turning her attention back to the captured Goblins being pressed for information. Perhaps the holy man notices; perhaps he does not.

Salonius bows slightly, smiling. "Glad to be of service," he says.



The "holy man" does. He walks over next to Mina and stands, turning to listen to what she is listening to.

Mina's eyes dart to the holy man when he approaches her. As he comes to stand next to her, Mina overtly--almost comically so--takes a wide sidestep away from him and then another to put distance between them again. She pretends to look at the Goblins as she listens to the conversation, but secretly she watches the holy man out of the corners of her eyes while staying ready to shift over again as necessary to keep at least the same distance between them. A silver chain link necklace can be seen worn around her neck and occasionally glints in the daylight, but its unrevealed pendant lies underneath her clothing.

The goblin provides Skyfro with little more information. The guards look up at him before grabbing the goblin by the arm.

"Execution or jail? You decide sir since you defended the village."

Solonius moves toward the one they call "Skyfro" and whispers something to him.

[Private to Skyfro: He says, "If you send him to jail, he could be useful later. Killing him now gives us less options."]

Skyfro ponders for a moment. "While the creature seems wholly unrepentant, it has provided a bit of useful knowledge. Perhaps some exposure to Desna's mercy..."

He pauses and quietly questions "I suppose  Desna does have mercy..."

Back louder so that all can hear him again "might open their eyes to new ways of existing in this world."

"And we might need to ask more questions later."

The guards pull off the small goblin taking it away. Shortly after there is a half-elf that comes up to the group, you remember him from before the festival. He is the tavern owner of the Rusty Dragon.

"Hello friends," he says. "your daring act has saved the city and I for one am impressed. I am sure adventurers such as yourself wouldn't remember me. My name is Ameiko Kaijitsu and I run the Rusty Dragon. I'd like to offer you all free room and board for the next week. It is my small way of thanking you you saving the village, I wish I could offer more."

Mina has no particular feelings one way or the other on the fate of the Goblins, so says nothing when he is taken away to be imprisoned for attacking the town. With the Goblins dealt with--and holy man further away now--she no longer feels tense and allows herself to relax some.

When the proprietor of Rusty Dragon comes over and offers her room and board for a week, she happily accepts. Perhaps being thought of as a hero isn't such a bad thing after all?

Salonius bows slightly and smiles. "Well-met, Ameiko. I am Salonius Spes. I'd be pleased to accept your invitation." A look of weariness creeps over his face, as if he was just now admitting to himself that he was tired. "I could also help tend to the wounded, if there are some. Perhaps after I do so, I could rejoin these other heroes and we could dine together."

In reply to Zyphus (msg # 129):

Skyfro watches the various responses of his companions (companions?) before quietly accepting the offer of a room.

"I would gladly rest my head in your inn and if what we experienced today is any example, will relish your offer of food. For the moment, I would like to follow up on what the goblin let slip and at least lay eyes on the graveyard of which he spoke."

At the mention of investigating some graveyard the one Goblin spoke of, Mina turns around to face the Half-Orc. She stares at him unblinking with a blank expression on her face for several seconds. After a silent moment, her eyes blink once and she asks, "Why would you want to look at a graveyard? It is full of dead people."

And also, she leaves unsaid, usually beside a church.

Skyfro is momentarily surprised by Mina's vehemence and it shows briefly before his features go neutral again.

"Hopefully all still dead. But something is strange and while the goblin was a bit befuddled, he did indicate that the graveyard was important in how they came to be attacking the village. I think we need to follow up before anything has time to change. I highly doubt that whatever organized the goblins to attack is done with the village. As I have no other pressing engagements, I intend to find out why. You are welcome to join me or not."

Solonius blinks and then nods. "I can appreciate that," he says.

He turns to Ameiko. "We would be pleased to take you up on your offer, but in a little bit. May we come to you in a little while after we do some investigation?"

Mina stares blankly at Skyfro for several seconds as if considering one way or the other before then shrugging her shoulders. She rests her spear over her right shoulder while holding the butt-end with her palm. "Lead the way then, Monk."

She waits for everyone else--especially the holy man--to start heading towards the cemetery first before finally stepping in at the tail-end of the group.

Torlek walked over to stand by Mina and quietly and gently I see your discomfort in our godly man and religion in general..  I am a factual man myself so understand the concern about things you cannot see...if you would rather head to the inn I will accompany you.. if you would follow the others to the graveyard I will stand by your side until it I'd done

When no one seemed to also see the humor in the eclectic gathering Gerard gave a subtle shrug and scanned the perimeter of the area and half listen to the conversation.

At Ameiko's offer of lodging the archer focused back on the conversation at hand. "Very kind of you, Master Kaijitsu. I too look forward to more of what your kitchen is capable of!"

Hearing Skyfro's plan, Gerard nodded in agreement. "Sooner would probably be better it's true," turning to Mina he added, "besides, Little One, there shouldn't be anything to fear what with the rest of us around."

Ameiko shakes his head and appreciation and wonders off back to the inn leaving you to your own devices. At about this time the sun is slowly sinking into the horizon and most of the town folk have cleaned up on partially what they could before retreating to their houses and locking their doors. The guards seem to be on patrol looking for any more of the goblins but they are too busy with that for clean up or much more.

OOC: If we are done with this Chapter then we will move on to Chapter 2. Just making sure the idea will be to go to the grave yard?

That's certainly my plan.
