Seeing as the others have left, Echo grumbles under her breath. She slowly goes to pet the beast, whistling to it before moving to take her rope and place it slowly over its neck "Shhh. Your okay. Safe."

Jaysen turned in the direction of the town and continued to plod along in complete silence.

The bird notices the rope but makes very little attempt to stop Echo from putting it around it's neck. The creature seems rather weak from the fight and frightened by the events. It makes no attempts to stop her but Echo knows that this creature is strong enough to essentially start it's attack again but makes no attempts to do so.

Muirryl frowns.  "Those beasts don't take to captivity easily.  The stories talk about fools being torn to pieces by them.  I..."

He stayed where he was.  "I wouldn't, Echo.  I don't want you hurt."  His voice sounded less commanding, more uncertain.  He was asking, without a question.

Lyra followed Jaysen toward the town. The griffon's reaction to Echo was not her concern.

"Well thanks. Out of everyone we're travelling with that hates poor ol' me that means a lot. Probably because I healed you. Go on, go back to your allies." The bard sighs. She turns on the gryphon, biting her lip and pets i.t "Your safe....unlike me."

Well that sucks.
09:29, Today: Echo rolled 5 using 1d20+3, rerolling max with rolls of 2.  Animal Handling.

The Griffon comes to life just in time to jump up sending Echo backing up from her stance. The creature you can tell does not like the rope and rather prefers to fly than stay on the ground. It doesn't directly attack you but you can tell it's not in the mood to stay with it's attackers.

Meanwhile down on the ground close to where Jaysen and Lura are the two look around trying to get an idea of the distance seeing a hill not far from the foot of the mountains. A small trek takes you to a hill that gives you an idea. You can see that the town itself seems pretty open, you can make out that people are outside and busy going about their daily lives. To the left of the town much further off in the distance is a area that has a small foot hills that looks like a cemetery. Other than that you don't see anything that looks out of place.

"Son of a..." Echo stares at the bird "Stop it. Or no treat." She holds her hand out "Friend. No hurt me and if you do I will cry." She never had to deal with animals and apparently not good with people. But she tries. She goes to pet the gryphon "Shh. You are okay."

10:39, Today: Echo rolled 16 using 1d20+3, rerolling max with rolls of 13.  Animal Handling.

Joining Jaysen and Lyra at the base of the hill, Malleus pointed over at the cemetery, "If the glove fits?" and smiled wanly, "I'm happy to scout it out and report back, if you two want to check out town"

The Griffon calms down and stops barking but still isn't interested in the rope that's on it's neck. You see the creature try shaking it off while ignoring you. You can tell it's still not okay with you yet. It seems even with the rope the creature is not planning to stay much longer.

Gripping the rope, Echo tries to calm him and after realizing it wants it off she realizes what she is doing-keeping it in line. Doing what others want. Not what she wants. Freedom. Echo goes to take the rope off "Go." She sighs and looks at the paladin "You as well. Just leave me alone."

Well yeah....
12:59, Today: Echo rolled 9 using 1d20+3, rerolling max with rolls of 6.  Animal Handling.

The Griffon gives a call to Echo is a rather thankful manner before taking to the sky for flight. For a brief second it hovers in the sky before flying off in the distance.

Frowning as the gryphon takes off, Echo packs up her rope. She checks her gear and sits down.

Muirryl looked at Echo.  Moving closer, briefly, he nodded down the road.  "The others are farther down.  Take what time you need, and let's get moving.  I'll replace the rope when we have a chance in town."

Muirryl either didn't realize that Echo intended this to be a standoff, or wasn't accepting that.

"They don't want my help. Clear as day." Echo shrugs and sights "Rope is fine. Not messed up so don't burden yourself by helping me." She stands up, letting the dirt lay on her clothes. She already looks like a halfling bum anyways. But she does follow, and goes quiet probably thinking. She pulls out her lute and fiddles with it. Occasionally she wipers her face for some unknown reason.

Down below you catch up with the others as they are deciding next moves. You see that Malleus is eyeing the town ahead but specifically looking at the graveyard area more heavily.

The bard waits, seeing where everyone is going. She sighs and sits down on a rock while looking at her lute.

Muirryl looked around.  "What did Bran say?  A creepy man outside of town.  But which side of town?  Any clues so far?" he asked the others.

Jaysen half turned to Muirryl and gave a non-committal shrug.

"There's a cemetery on the left side. It's an easy, if obvious, source for his necromancy."

Getting up, Echo moves towards the town away from the cemetary without a word. The mouse pops up from her cloak. Strange.

Muirryl looked at the last of his wounds.  Then he laid a hand on himself.  There was the buzz and shock of his god's gift.  The wounds closed, but felt numb, bruised quickly.  The bruises would fade in a couple of days.  They always did.  But his god didn't avoid leaving marks to show what had happened.

"Let's see if we can find him and talk."  He began to look around for signs of a creepy dude.

OOC: If we have no objections. I am going to move on to the next chapter unless someone specifically wants to go into town?

OOC: It seems like the rest are headed to the graveyard. You can go to the town, nothing is stopping you I just want to make sure I know the groups before I move forward with the next part of the story.
