IN-GAME THREAD: Getting ready to set out for adventure...

Gwendolyn waits at the northwest road leading out of the town of Vierna. To the northwest, this road leads to the pixie Grasslands of Dacria-- unless one takes a side road that splits off more to the left later, headed for the Kona Hills instead.

But there's one hill on the main road that's apparently NEW (and at the same time very old)-- and such things always need investigating, the sooner the better.

However, the sergeant at the Adventurer's Guild said to wait until after dawn, that she thought she could send maybe half a dozen people to join Gwendolyn, maybe more.

In fact, here comes someone from the heart of town who's obviously headed to the same spot as Gwendolyn, for the same reason-- a catfolk gal...

(Okay, Gwendolyn and Fran, time to meet each other... I'll send the next person along in a couple of posts...)

Gwendolyn didn't super mind having to wait. Glasswork could take some patience at times, so she was well used to waiting. For now though, she could at least rest a little while waiting, just lying in the grass...

Except for the catfolk gal heading along the way!

Gwendolyn sat up from the ground and started the process of getting up all the way. Upon reaching her full height, she stretched out her arms, blue feathers ruffling, and let out a yawn. It was a little odd yawning while under Now slightly more alert, she waved the other woman closer with her arms and a brief shout of "Hey! Over here!" Hopefully, whoever this was got told to expect a weird bird girl with a purple mask.

Two more come into view behind the catwoman-- a tusker wearing partial plate mail, and a human woman, and a pixie...

(Brakenjawz, Ruth, Fiereljep, you are also now "up." Start introducing yourself to Gwendolyn and Fran...)

Fran walking casually, slightly leaning back with her arms behind her head.  Her hood is back and the cloak pushed back revealing her light armor.
As she heads to the meeting place the Sarge directed her to, she hears a voice call out.

Fran looks at the person and sees a Birdfolk.  Smiling, Fran waves back and quicken her pace.  Once she is close "Ah, are you Lyn of the Glass Mask?" with a slight bow "I'm Fran Drake, the Sarge told meet up with you."

Nodding her head in response, Gwendolyn thanked her lucky stars she could put her arms down. Her leather armor wasn't uncomfortable, per se, but it certainly made waving her arms more tiring than she'd've liked. Not for the first time, Gwen considered making her armor herself. "Hey there, Fran. Good to meetcha. You can call me Lyn, yeah. Name's Gwendolyn. Gwendolyn Gloine. You're the scout, right?" Gwen knew no one could really see her face all that well through her mask — that was by design after all — so she tried to push a bit of a smile into her voice instead. Fran seemed nice and polite. "I've heard good things."

Noting the others approaching, Gwen leaned over and raised her armwing to wave them over too. This wasn't the last of them, but she was glad this group was coming in in chunks. She would not have been happy about waving six different adventurers over!

Fran nods "Yep, that would be me." Fran stands about 5ft 3in tall, with white hair and a orange tabby fur, wearing a dark cloak that when closed covers her completely with a deep hood, leather armor, a shortbow & quiver, and a utilitarian knife.

Fran moves to stand next to Lyn and watches as the other's join.

The large human woman moves towards the two already waiting.  She has an iron pot on her head as a makeshift helmet from which loose strands of red hair can be seen.  She has a frying pan in one hand and a mallet in the other.  There is also a machete blatantly visible in her belt.

She looks as though she ought to waddle given her size, but she doesn't waddle. She strides.

Her lips curve into a gentle smile but her grey green eyes hold a touch of something strange. Nevertheless her voice is calm as she says,l"Hello ladies.  I understand this is where the Guild wants me to be.  I know I have rep as a cook but there's more to me than that, I promise."

With that the small blue Pixie sitting on the pot played an intricate medieval sounding riff on his tifcad.

Human... Reputation as a cook... Ah! The gal with the potato soup recipe! "You're Ruth, right? This's the right spot, yeah. I'm Gwendolyn Gloine. Great to have ya!" It was also great to be called a lady, if Gwen was being honest with herself.

At Ruth's promise there was more to her, Gwen tilted her head to the side, eyeing the machete. She wondered if maybe she should've brought something other than the glass shield on her back, but weapons probably wouldn't help her all that much anyways. "So, what else is there to you then, if you don't mind me asking?"

Babe considers this for a long moment.  Well I umm... "I'm excellent a chopping and at throwing.  I was a fine fast bowler in my schoolgirl days, gaining speeds of up to 120 miles per hour, which means that I can throw a ball faster than an arrow in flight.  Of course that was with a ball and they are designed for aerodynamics.  It doesn't work as well with a cactus."

Fran just raises and eyebrow at the comment 'Faster than an Arrow'.
