SETTING STUFF

Facts about: Cricket!

Cricket is one of the most popular games amongst Sefonia's human population. Halflings like it too, although they prefer boules (a love shared by dwarves, gnomes, the uglolla, and the blessed). Cricket even has its adherents amongst the flamefolk, birdfolk, and tuskers.

It is said that Ronsi invented both cricket and boules.

None of this is to be confused with the enjoyment by dwarves of ninepins (another Ronsi invention).

SETTING STUFF

--The Upper Reaches: The caverns and tunnels underground are known as The Upper Reaches. Many dwarves live there, and quite a few kobolds. It's a bit of a wild zone, what with monsters and dangers finding their way up from The Middle Reaches. Dwarves (and kobolds, to a lesser extent) consider themselves to be the protectors of the surface world from such threats... when possible.

--The Middle Reaches: The caverns and tunnels below The Upper Reaches are known as The Middle Reaches. It's only the bravest (or most foolish) dwarves and/or kobolds who go there, because it's known to have even more dangerous monsters and dangers than do The Upper Reaches.

--The Lower Depths: The caverns and tunnels below The Middle Reaches are known as The Lower Depths. No dwarf nor kobold in his right mind goes there... without permission. Multiple civilizations rule down there... and they very seldom give permission for surface-dwellers to visit.

One of the biggest problems with the ancient places showing up around Tethys is that sometimes (less than half the time, but still) they serve as brand-new entranceways to The Upper Reaches...
