World Lore

The event that caused the great splitting of the world is still to this day unknown to most people. One thing that is known is that the island nations that where left behind formed into five different kingdoms that each have their own rules.

At the highest location is the Citadel Enclave mostly populated by humans but does have a blend of other races thrown in as well. This location is run by the Enclave which prevails in peace through the use of city guard, inquisitors as other means. The lands of the Citadel are mostly plains and mountains in nature making the perfect place for people to live. Laws inside of the Citadel Enclave are ruled with an iron fist by King Ardent Ironheart although some small parcels are lands are given to Barons and Baroness who pay favor to the court. The Citadel is mostly peaceful as long as you stay on the side of the law.

Beneath the Citadal Enclave is the Aetherial Plateau which is mostly a trading area among the ideas. It doesn't feature the same rich highness of the Citadel but the rules are more lax here for traders and people looking at running away from the Citadel Enclave. Lands are primarily a blend of plains, desert and small bodies of water. Cyrus Grimforge runs the Aetherial Plateau as one of the last surviving Dwarves. His army of goblin tinkers make sure his kingdom is secure from attacks giving it the most technological advances out of all the kingdoms.

In between everything is the Celestial Nexus which is maintained by the FaeBound and their Queen Seraphiel. The region is mostly forest with one of the last remaining waterfalls and even some large swamps. The FaeBound protect their region with their lives and while outsides are allowed, they are only allowed to visit the boardertowns on the edge of the Celestial Nexus. In the center is the Mothertree which has been sad to fight the void sickness by the Fae magic. Here FaeBound and BeastBound make up a majority of the population, very few humans live here and no Voidcaller would dare enter.

Ethereal Veil which has giant towers of the still remaining kingdoms before the split. Much like the crystal Nexus, the Ethereal Veil in previous centuries housed great magic but due to the void that life has been sucked out of the landscape. Now what was one green lushes forest are barren wastelands and deserts. Old ancient towers and dungeon still exist which lead to more chaotic rules. With no laws this land has become a place of treasures but also bandits and mercenaries. Merchants pay top dollar for relics from the Ethereal Veil.

Last land is the Chaos Abyss which sits right above the void. As the lowest island that is closest to the void it is often a place that is a home to only those running from something. Long term exposure to the void causes madness and even steals peoples soul. However, the lands of the Chaos Abyss are rich with mountainous metals that other nations need desperately. King Vortex is a VoidCaller that has fashioned himself a unique piece of armor which contains his spirit. Unlike other regions, VoidCaller happily takes no souls into his region. The more people who come, the more that stay.

Between all of these regions are the unclaimed lands. Islands too small to fit large cities or kingdoms but maintain some of the denizens from across Aether. Here you can find all manner of creature and civilization.

At the very bottom is the void which is a area that draws magic, life and even space into it's area. From the void spawns all manner of creature which roam the skies and lands. No one has ever been able to discover the source of the void due to the shear danger of getting too close.
