Chapter 1: The Iron Citadel's Call

"Of course, captain! We won't let you down!", Oliseo exclaimed, jubilant at the prospect of avoiding repair duty or any kind of hard work.

"So, who is going to lead this little expedition? And who's coming with?", he asked with a smile on his face, confident he's not going to be picked as a leader. Ah, the advantages of a lowly deck hand. How can you make trouble when you are the one calling the shots in the first place?

Vartan stepped up and spoke. "I will go with you. The crew is my responsibility. If necessary I will lead, but you should do the talking. I tend to be a bit intimidating."

"Ah, my friend, don't you worry. Talking is something that I excel."

"...it's people listening to me that won't work", he added under his breath with a chuckle.

"I will come as well." He says even though he doesn't relish the idea of spending more time with the walking can.

"Are there any specific supplies you will need us to locate for repairs, Captain?" He inquires dutifully before setting off.

Chapter 1: The Iron Citadel's Call

Fun lies in the side streets off the main road. The further from the main road, the more fun there is. Skinner mentally translated the captains words.

"I'm going!"
He volunteers. "If we are buying supplies, how much coin do we have?"

Chapter 1: The Iron Citadel's Call

"Well, Captain, here's the posse!", Oliseo chuckled, waving to indicate the other volunteers. "Let's make haste, no? And we'll have very competent leadership to boost!", he added, pointng at Vartan and almost immediately lowering his hand, realizing the silliness. Or was it the weird shiver down his spine when he did?

Regardless, he went to fetch his backpack with his meager possessions and was in front of them again. "Deck Hand Ceaseless, reporting for duty, CAPTAIN!", he yelled, a tad too mockingly.

"You said the crystal blew" Skinner said. "Have we got a spare one? Or do we need to buy one? What size, any fittings...?"

Chapter 1: The Iron Citadel's Call

The Captain looks at Skinner with a smile, "I assume the market should have one. We have all the necessary  equipment we need to repair the bottom of the ship. We just need that crystal.", the Captain takes out of an envelope and hands its over to Oliseo. "Here is the delivery also inside of the market that should net you enough money to buy another crystal. Make haste."

Chapter 1: The Iron Citadel's Call

Astonished as much as everyone that the captain trusted him with the envelope, he reverently took off his backpack, put it in the safest place he could find- under a semi-clean change of clothes- and hoisted the backpack again, ready to go now. "Won't fail you, Captain!", he said, already feeling abuzz at the Captain's show of trust.

"Let's go!"

Chapter 1: The Iron Citadel's Call

The trip through the Plateau is a rather peaceful one compared to the harsh landscape of the Enclave. That plateau is more wild in nature with storms that range off in the distance but a rather flat landscape with very little in terms of scenery. Much of the plateau is grasslands and hills which do not peak into much more than mounds of dirt and dust.

When you finally come across a road you are not shocked to see a number of travelers on the road already heading towards the market that the captain mentioned. A few of the people are of different races, lizardfolk, humans, faefolk and even goblins among the group. One such goblin looks at the crew and instantly spots your stand out.

"Well! Lookie what we got here. Some skybound travelers. What brings you folk to the plateau?"says the goblin.

"Actually looking for the market, where all these amazing things can be found. Anything you can tell us about the market?", Oliseo tried to be a bit more serious about the situation, both to mitigate Vartan's frustration (it was too early!) and because Skinner and him were apparently taking turns being clowns.

Chapter 1: The Iron Citadel's Call

The little goblin says, "Sure this way." He urges you to join the caravan. "We are a group of traders, mostly small things but heading towards the market. My name is Jastor, I've been on the plateau for sometime and I rarely leave the island. You though seem to be from the skies, you wouldn't happen to be on that ship that came crashing down? We noticed one in the sky that looked like it had engine trouble. Didn't see smoke so I assumed the people survived."

The others besides Jastor continue to walk with him but mainly ignore the little goblin. They seem like a very relaxed bunch of merchants.

Chapter 1: The Iron Citadel's Call

Oliseo seemed to be lost in though, taking the sights and the sounds in- and the smells, too. The entire place seemed... alive. Unlike the dour company of the ship or the very brief visit the had in the port, this place promised wonders and experiences.

Leaving the goblin to Skinner, he starts walking around briskly, chatting the merchants up, asking them what they're selling and what they're doing, in a friendly, casual kind of way.

The little goblin smiles at Skinner, "Oh yes. Skyfolk look different than groundwalkers." says the goblin. "We are on our way to the market. Word is they are picking nominating someone told for the first prince or princess. We are eager to see who."

Vartan followed his crew like a shadow, quiet but there all the same. He did not understand why people were in such a tizzy, their lives would hardly be affected.

Oliseo did his best to gather information from the merchants, but couldn't help overhearing the friendly goblin.

"So who are the choices, you little gossip?", Oliseo asked, teasing the short green fellow good-naturedly. He didn't mind goblins; they could be quite fun.

OOC: Do you need a Rapport Roll to gather any information from the merchants? Unless I am compelled by Aspect: Love me or Hate me to annoy everyone and fail automatically for a Fate Point XD
