Commander Cain

Commander Cain is thought to be a "Living Legend" among the Warriors of the Colonies. A keen strategist and cunning warrior his renown is only matched by his stubbornness and maverick behavior. Assigned to the 5th Fleet to protect an outpost in the Molecay system on the edge of Colonial space, his force was attacked and destroyed by the Cylons except for his ship, the Battlestar Pegasus. Knowing that the Cylons would head straight for the Colonies, Cain headed for the nearest outermost Cylon system, Gamoray where he kept the Cylons from attacking the Colonies for 2 years.

It wasnt until his recon Vipers found the Battlestar Galactica and its refugee fleet that he discovered the Colonies were destroyed despite his efforts in harrying their forces at Gamoray. Hatching a plan to gain fuel for the fleet to continue their search for the 13th Tribe, a strike team was sent to Gamoray to destroy their Command & Control computers to allow them to bypass the defenses to steal fuel from the base - but unknown to anyone, Cain decided to buy more time to the survivors by engaging the Cylon Base Stars sent to destroy the refugee fleet. Cain ordered the Pegasus to head straight toward the Base Ships, setting his shields to maximum and firing all weapons while the Battlestar's Vipers & Shuttles were sent to the Galactica. His plan was a success and as the Base Stars were destroyed, he ordered the ship to go to Light Speed to avoid any Cylon reinforcements that might arrive to assist, using the explosion of the Cylon Base Stars as cover to escape.

Unfortunately, the Pegasus could only maintain this speed for only a few minutes as the Battlestar took heavy damage from the battle with the Cylons and its Solium Energizers went offline. Drifting without power after escaping the battle, the Pegasus lay dead in space with its engines cold, heavily damaged and without its fighters to protect it.

It was then that Cain and the crew of the Pegasus saw the Orbs of Light.

Dozens of these orbs surrounded and flew around the crippled Battlestar - invisible to targeting scanners and unrecognizable by battle computers - and then they flew away, giving way to an approaching object that could only be described as a Ship of Light. A high-pitched whine could be heard throughout the Pegasus, causing its crew and its commander to lose consciousness. Upon awaking, Cain found himself in the Ship of Light, surrounded by the beings mentioned in the human's Book of the Word - the enigmatic Seraphs - the Beings of Light who guided the Lords of Kobol to the 12 planet system that would be the 12 Colonies of Man!



They spoke to Cain, told him that a larger threat - bigger than the Cylons - threatened the very existence of the universe. In order to combat this threat, Cain and the Battlestar Pegasus must stop it, lest it consume their universe. Upon this threat being stopped, the Seraphs would return them and guide them to be reunited with their fellow humans finding the 13th Tribe known as Earth.

Sensing no ill will but an overwhelming feeling of calm and peace from these angelic beings, he accepts their request. Three Seraphs surround him and touch him simultaneously and he feels his body being transformed, changed, altered. He loses consciousness once more amd finds himself back onboard the bridge of the Pegasus. His XO, Tolen - although surprised by his commanders altered form, performed his duty and informed Cain he cannot verify their position but finds the Battlestar repaired of its battle damage. Cain tells his XO to go to long range scan and lock on to the first planet or station within range and head for it.




Traits

1. Brilliant Leader, Strategist/Tactician: Commander Cain is a master strategist & tactician of the 7th Millenium and his strategies have been required reading among the Warriors in the Academy and War College. He has survived battles against the Cylon Alliance even against overwhelming odds or superior numbers. Because of this he garners near fanatical loyalty from his crew and warriors under his command.

2. The Battlestar Pegasus:



This 2 mile long vessel was built during the Thousand Yahren (Year) war against the Cylons. She has double the amount of missiles and laser batteries than the typical Battlestar and equipped with an electronic defense shield and can carry over 150 Colonial Viper fighters.

3. Warrior: Commander Cain is a skilled Warrior, able to use Colonial weapons, equipment and drive/pilot any vehicle be it a Shuttle, Viper or Landram.

4. Supernatural Alteration: The Seraphs (beings referred to as "Beings of Light" by the ancient humans of Kobol) altered Cain's body for his new mission set forth by them. His body has been given maximum human endurance, stamina & strength as well as reversing his aging to a young man of 25 from his real physical age of 100. His body has also been altered to withstand & heal physical damage and trauma that would cripple, maim or kill an average human being.

5. Sense Fallen Ones: The Seraphs also gave Cain the ability to sense the Fallen Ones (Demons/Devils) and the evil they radiate.

6. Hurt Supernatural beings: Finally, the Seraphs gave Cain the ability to hurt supernatural beings either with bare hands, hand held weapon or weapons of a vehicle he is piloting (knife, sword, Laser pistol/rifle, Viper, etc.)
