A young man of some twenty stanyers, Vadim's amiable mien and easy smile is frequently belied by a certain wariness about his gray eyes or a flinty stare.  His tanned face is framed by thick close-cropped dark brown hair that is slightly unevenly cut, likely because of a self-administered or amateur clip.

Still filling out the lankiness of youth, Vadim's clothes and gear are worn but well cared for, patched, and modified to suit.  His strategically placed cargo pockets show telltale signs of occupancy of some small object or other complete Vadim's overall look of rumpled comfort and utility.  His hands are calloused and the occasional glimpse of hard delineated tan-lines, likely from long hours outdoors under the glow of Truane's Star, suggest that unlike his soft callow peers Vadim has some familiarity with physical labor.
