Tius was the High Commander and later the High Training Commander of The Black Royal Dragonguard.  When Thandac fell in the Great War he was taxed with saving the only heir by the King in the King's dying breath.  It was ordered that Princess Araya was spirited away by the greatest of warriors, Marek Blud.  Blud did not fancy the orders but Tius told him that it was the only future hope of Thandac.  Little did either man know that there was a pre-destined reason for this.

He has trained the young dragonlords that escaped and now have grown to adulthood and been the foster father of Araya. His job has not been an easy one to keep her and others learning her true identity until the time was right.  Marek had taken to a cave in the hills and become a wild hermit, and it was only Zedd left with Tius to school Araya without her being none the wiser as Zedd had cast a memory spell on her and the other dragonriders to think that the true princess had been murdered with her parents.

Now was the time for change ....
