Lady Alia Caulfort d'Armand

Character Name: Lady Alia Caulfort d'Armand
Age: 42
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 130 lbs.

Description: A woman with fair skin, striking blue eyes, and red hair, Lady Alia  is still beautiful even though she's over forty years old. She has sharp features and a piercing gaze that is cold as ice (though it was not always so). Although she seems weary and exhausted, she is also determined.

Skills: Noble, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Herbalism/Healing, Warrior

Faction: Lady Alia and Gaius

Character History: Born in the Village of Armhearth, North Velen, near the Dharan Mountains, Alia was the sole surviving heir of her parents Armelio and Agatha Caulfort. Her two brothers were killed in skirmishes and so the title fell to her; neither brother would have been as good a Lord as she was a Lady, however, so perhaps it was good for the people of the region that they fell.

Despite her extended family's objections, she married a soldier, Gaius Armand, and the two of them had three sons, Marius, Oliver, and Jaysen. Although not a nobleman himself, he had ties to people at court, and in her younger days, Alia imagined that would provide a way to climb the social ladder. Something might have come of that, save for Gaius' branding and the ostracization that followed effectively banished her back to the village and her family's ancestral home. She weathered the disgrace fairly well, although it dashed her hopes of becoming ennobled, and frankly, better than her husband did. Of course, she had sons to raise and her lands to administer, so perhaps it was a matter of being too busy to wallow in self-pity for long.

Marius, the oldest son, is a merchant who sails the seven seas; Alia hasn't seen him in years, although they do exchange the occasional letter. Oliver disappeared during the coup and no one knows where he is or if he is alive. Jaysen joined the army after the coup and was already distinguishing himself as a platoon sergeant. He was home to visit Alia before his unit was to leave to guard the frontier.

Now her ancestral home is a ruin, burned to the ground by the Black Dragonguard. Her heart is broken and she is as cold as ice, for her youngest died fighting a dragon and its rider. She is seeking Gaius because there is nothing left for her, but she knows that he must be told of Jaysen's fall. Where does she go from there? She has no idea.
