Suzy Lamour ~ like a sister to Delilah and Kentucky.  She thinks someone will have to go under cover to find info to hang Bosch.  Her love interest is a Loy Mason who starts out as a henchman for Bosch.

Suzy is a survivor!  But has a tragic past.  She was married to Louie Lamour and they owned a plantation in Georgia.  Her husband went off to fight for the confederates and while he was gone the yankees came through and killed her young son and thought she was dead after they manhandled her and raped her.  They burned the house to the ground with her trapped with her son inside.  Her son ran out on her orders and was shot down.  She saw it all as she was crawling to the door to get out of the fire.  One of their sharecropper men that they had freed a year before came in through the fire and carried her out as the soldiers rode away.  Her people took care and nursed her back to health then the letter came.  Her husband had been killed in action.  She had lost everything she knew and loved.  She sectioned off and gave the land to all that had worked for them as slaves.

Then she saddled her own horse, dressed in men's clothes took pistols and holster and a rifle and said goodbye and headed west.  Ended up in New Orleans working a Casino with Deli and Kentucky and rode west when it all went 'south'.

Here they were in Laredo making a new life.
