DESCRIPTION:

Kara is Caucasian, with shoulder-length blond hair and blue eyes. She's around average height (5'5") with an athletic build. Her accent is mid-western. She doesn't normally wear make-up; Kryptonian physiology means her skin is perfect without it.

As Kara Kent, she dresses in a variety of comfortable casual styles. She favors jeans or shorts rather than skirts or dresses to avoid association with her identity as Supergirl; for the same reason, despite looking almost like a stereotypical cheerleader, she isn't one.

As Supergirl, she wears a blue leotard with an 'S' logo in red and gold, a red cape, a red skirt with a gold waistband, and red fabric flat-heeled thigh boots. The bright red and blue subtly echo the American flag.

PERSONALITY: Confident. Very, very confident. For once, that's not (just) teenage self-belief, but because she's (almost?) indestructible. Otherwise, she's very much the 'nice girl' from a mid-west farm. She's can be rather immature and naïve (bordering on gullible at times: she has trouble 'reading' human emotions). Because of how she was raised, she's also a bit of a 'goody-two-shoes' and a stickler for following rules - but can be talked round: she's easy to dare into doing something foolish. Thinking ahead is not her strong suit.

SKILLS: Her learned skills are those of working on a farm, and from reading: she's an avid reader, originally just to learn about her new homeworld, so her best school subject is (ironically) history.

POWERS: Kara has Kryptonian - well, Argonian - physiology. Under a yellow sun, this gives her great strength, durability and speed. She can easily lift ten tons, and a blow or fire must be extreme for her to be affected. Her Kryptonian senses are far sharper than a human's, with her eyes able to see many spectra (including X-Ray) and her ears able to clearly hear a whispered conversation in the next room (a two-edged sword at times). She can fly at several hundred miles-per-hour, and has heat vision too (though it's still developing, and at the moment it's best used for warming something up or popping corn). Her senses mean that she can still feel some pain from things that don't hurt her (so the old 'tack on the chair' will still hurt, even though it won't break her skin). She has the usual Kryptonian vulnerabilities to Kryptonite and Magic.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Kara was born on Argo, Krypton's sister world. When Krypton exploded, Argo was pushed out of its orbit. Kara was sealed in a cryo-pod and launched into space, where she was rescued by Superman. He took her to live with his adoptive parents, who took her in as their adopted 'niece'. For the last four years, she's grown up on the farm in Smallville. She's the last Argonian (as far as she knows) much as Superman is the last Kryptonian (as far as he knows). At the Academy, she goes by Kara Kent; her real name is Kara Zor-El, and the media have dubbed her 'Supergirl'.
