As he stands now Marek is dirty and unkempt, his beard and long hair have not been cut in years and are raggedy.  He wears clothes that are hardly more than rags and soft shoes he formed from the hide of a stag.  His clothing has been mended in several areas.

Despite his dirty appearance, he is still a very large man, he can't hide all of his frame under the loose clothing.

Most people only know him as the hermit and his true identity isn't known.  Most of the townsfolk think him insane, which he puts up an act to continue the charade.  He prefers solitude but will often be seen staring down from a high perch watching the young Dragonriders train.  He does keep a close watch on Arya and will follow her into the forest if she goes alone.
