What do people see when they glance at you?
A tall, thin, and gaunt man of decent looks.  Beyond his height and his above average features nothing else is particularly memorable about him.

What will people find out if they ask around about you?
That Bartholomew is generally considered a recluse and something of a scholar.  Some folks may question the avenues of his research, but as he doesn't flaunt anything all there is to go on is hearsay.

What will people find out if they talk to you?
That Bartholomew is more eloquent than might be expected, and also has a lot more pride than it seems he has any right to have.

What will people find out if they look into your past?
That Bartholomew seems to have a lot more past than would be expected of someone of his appearance.  There are folks that would have sworn to having known him years before he could've been born - which surely can't be right.
