Mark is 6'2" and around 265 lbs.  He is muscled but also overweight. He keeps his hair cut short and generally wears t-shirts and jeans with solid work boots.

Mark grew up in Mississippi on a farm. He was constantly working from the age of 10 hauling hay, helping the adults cut wood and generally farm work.  He played football up until 10th grade when he had a knee dislocated.  He decided that football just wasn't for him so he quit and just enjoyed high school. After high school he attended a local community college and learned welding. He got a job at a business called Marathon Letourneau in Vicksburg, MS. After a year he and his high school girlfriend split up so he joined the army, by mistake. He was planning to join the Air force but the doors were side by side and he walked in the wrong door.  They mentioned a $5000 bonus and he was hooked. He signed up to be a 13F, Forward observer. He learned map navigation using grid coordinates, some weapons training, and lots of morning workouts.

After hours he would go the on base rec center and starting playing Dungeons and Dragons while there. He was stationed at Fort Hood, TX for all 4 years of his service. When reup time came he decided against it and went to Bullhead City, Arizona with a friend who got out around the same time. He worked as a mechanic's helper, dishwasher and blackjack dealer at a local casino across the river in Laughlin Nevada. He stayed for a year and then went back home.  Back home he spent the next 5 years at various jobs, mostly physical labor type jobs.  He learned to drive a forklift, both sit down and stand up types. Then he got into apartment maintenance and did this for the next 16 years. When the outbreak happened he was in Atlanta visiting the friend who got him into maintenance. Todd, his friend, had several handguns and they headed out together.
